It's a lazy Sunday afternoon, so stay in your pajamas, grab a mug of coffee and curl up in front of your computer with the final run of Good Old Games' weekend deal on TopWare titles. The TopWare Mix is half off until tomorrow at 11:59 p.m. EDT and includes Two Worlds, Jagged Alliance 2: Wildfire, Jack Orlando: A Cinematic Adventure, the Earth series and more. Check out the full lineup right here, but hey, take your time. It is the day of rest, after all.

Here's the shoo-in for today's Unlikeliest Venue for New Game Announcement: in the comments of a Destructoid article about accusations of TopWare trying to manipulate review scores of Two Worlds 2, TopWare marketing director James Seaman indirectly confirmed the existence of a third Two Worlds.

Okay, a little context. The original article presents allegations from various sources that TopWare PR contacted sites requesting review scores be raised, or threatening to blacklist them if scores weren't. Seaman responded to these allegations in several comments, in general attributing the problems to misunderstandings.

And responding to a criticism about the game's actual quality from another commenter, Seaman said that "We are trying to do a better job every time and have brought in a brand new 3D modeling, animation and CG team for the next Two Worlds game coming out in 2012."

Some companies use press releases, some companies use stage presentations. TopWare opted for the blog comment.

We can't blame you if you immediately glaze over when you see the words "Two Worlds," but if so, you've been missing one of the funniest and most honest advertising campaigns in the the history of video games. We're not sure if the self-effacing "Sordahon's Journey" is going to convince us to buy Two Worlds 2, but it's certainly helping us to forgive SouthPeak for Two Worlds 1.

The fourth installation of the series is upon us just after the break -- and you can only find it on Joystiq! Here are parts one, two and three if you need to catch up.

Seemingly hearing the plea to convert our "non-pessimism" about Two World 2 into actual optimism, Topware Interactive has released a new trailer for the game. It's packed with thumping music and positive quotes from the press, and it certainly sets the stage. There's also a moment where an Orc kicks a dude in the face, so that's nice.

We should be getting some hands-on time with the game at E3. Here's hoping that Reality Pump has fleshed out the potential we saw at PAX East.

We've already gone on record as saying that Two Worlds II doesn't look nearly as terrible as we fully expected it to, but we're still a little surprised to report we were genuinely, non-ironically excited to see that it had been officially dated this morning. Publisher SouthPeak says the open-world action-RPG will arrive on Sept. 14 on PS3, 360 and PC.

Perhaps before then we'll get our hands on the game and be able convert our "non-pessimism" to "optimism." Here's hoping!

#audio Some video game voice-acting isn't very good. Thank goodness there's a website that records the worst of it. More »
