If you've been intensely monitoring eBay, hoping to nab a factory-sealed copy of Treasure's rare Sega Saturn beat-'em-up, Guardian Heroes, it's time to relax. Sega revealed this morning that it intends to release the game for Xbox Live Arcade sometime "this fall," with flashier 2D visuals (HD!) and online play (both co-op and battle modes). And it won't cost upwards of $50 to get it, unlike that eBay auction you've been eying. (Our condolences to the sellers, though!)

"Players have been clamoring for this treasured favorite from the Saturn days, and we cannot wait to show them what we have got for them," Sega VP of digital business Haruki Satomi noted in the announcement, calling the fan response to previous Dreamcast re-releases "overwhelming." So overwhelming, in fact, that Sega had to step back to an older console.

In an interview with Pocketful of Megabytes, Team Meat revealed that Super Meat Boy has sold 600,000 copies across both Steam and Xbox Live -- quite the jump from the 400,000 figure the game was approaching back in February. Sales on Xbox Live are close to 200,000, while Steam leads with nearly 400,000.

Of course, the figure we want most is just how many times that adorable little cube of meat has perished. It's got to be in the billions, right?

The guys at Ska Studios must be big Kurt Loder fans (we're totally Team Serena Altschul!), because this dev diary for The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile is straight outta the '90s. The video takes us on a tour of founder James Silva's pad (just like MTV Cribs!), which is great for all of you stalker types out there -- and even greater for those of you curious to see how an indie studio is livin'.

The video also introduces the newest member of Ska Studios, "art unicorn" Michelle. Hey, aren't unicorns supposed to have horns on their heads? False advertising, lady!

I've been closely following the development of Fez for a long time now, and was especially excited for a chance to finally play it at this year's PAX East. While I really enjoyed what I played of Fez, its boothmate was what stood out as the hidden gem of the show for me: Warp, a downloadable title from Trapdoor Inc.

The developer takes a Happy Tree Friends approach to violence -- adorable, cartoony, and ultra-bloody -- which plays out in the game via the main character's interaction with human beings. I warped the little creature you see above into a variety of different folks throughout my brief playthrough of the build on display. Occasionally stunning those I deemed innocent enough to live, or rocking the Xbox 360 analog stick back and forth to "explode" the person or object from the inside, my little creature quickly figured out how to skirt a room full of scientists and armed guards without so much as alerting another living thing.

And if I was spotted by a living thing, it was just as quickly exploded into bits. Such is Warp.

One in six people in China have played Nexon's Dungeon Fighter Online -- the free-to-play 2D action PC MMORPG claimed over 200 million registered users even before its launch in North America, at one point seeing 2.2 million concurrent users. And now Nexon is reaching out for another audience entirely: It's announced that DFO is coming to Xbox Live later in 2011, published by none other than Microsoft Games Studios.

The console version will be jointly developed by Nexon and Korean developer Softmax, and the game's original developer, Neople, will direct the project. There's no word on whether it will be free-to-play or microtransaction-based on Xbox Live Arcade or not -- the original game, like all of Nexon's titles, is supported by sales of in-game items, from gear and potions to XP boosts.

Joystiq has contacted Nexon to find out more, and we'll let you know what we hear. This announcement could be huge -- a free-to-play MMO hit on consoles, especially in the west, would have big ramifications for the gaming industry at large.

Update: "Nothing has been determined yet" about the model for this one, we're told. Nexon says it's too early in the process to talk about exactly how this version of the game will work.

"It's not a brand new game. It's kind of a combination of Sega Rally 3, the arcade game, and Sega Rally Revo," Sega brand manager Ben Harbone explained to me during a GDC 2011 event. "It's got all of the gameplay characteristics from the arcade game -- it's running on the Arcade engine -- but with some of the Sega Rally Revo cars."

There are a total of 13 cars in Sega Rally Online Arcade, an Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network bound title, spanning the more popular rally offerings like the Subaru WRX, Ford Focus and Mitsubishi Evo, along with five different tracks to zip around in.
