Starting this Friday and through the entire weekend, join the Assassin’s Creed multiplayer community in “Under Control”, the first of a series of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag multiplayer events where you will work together with your fellow Assassins and Templars to get everyone special in-game prizes!

For “Under Control”, you will need to play Domination games and pile up territory captures with our most aristocratic characters: the Huntsman, the Puppeteer, the Dandy and the Duelist. For the uninitiated, Domination games will have you and your team working together to capture territories and defend them from the opposing team to score. The team who fills the scoring gauge or obtains the highest score at the end of the countdown wins.

For this first multiplayer event, we’ll be providing community objectives to get awesome in-game prizes. Starting Friday, you can check out the events section in-game to find out what the current community objectives are. Outside of the community objectives, you’ll find a number of things you can win even before reaching the community objective. For instance, you get a unique title just for participating and an exclusive in-game profile picture if you reach the individual objective (15 territories captured).

Unlock these exclusive Assassin costumes by reaching the community objective. Find out what the community objectives are by logging in to Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag.

10579558156_295b933d6b_o.jpg Get early access to these avatars by playing in the event this weekend and leaving feedback in the PS Community Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag discussion.

However, the grand prize will by unlocked when the whole PS3 community achieves the community objective. We will then release exclusive classy white Assassin costumes for the four characters aforementioned, and you will be able to use them anytime and anywhere you want in the entire multiplayer!

We’re also curious to get your thoughts and feedback on the event as it’s happening. Head to the Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag thread on the PlayStation Community Forums to leave your feedback on the event. Those who participate in the event, and leave their feedback in this thread will get a set of exclusive Assassin’s Creed IV avatars. PlayStation will be sending these to you by voucher code via XMB message, as well as to your email no later than 11/23.

So gather your team and be ready on November 1st to dive in to the first Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag multiplayer event!

- when Edward Kenway boards a ship, he has the option to add the ship to his fleet
- allows you to send them on missions
- ships eventually return with money and spoils
- access to this content is locked behind the Uplay Passport

This is the closest we've seen to single-player, on-disc content being locked away behind an online registration. This is sure to make quite a few people upset.

As you all know (and probably expected for months on end), Ubisoft decided to delay Assassin’s Creed IV’s PC release into November’s deepest waters. But why? How could this possibly make any sense? Well, I posit the following: it was an act of god. Wait, sorry, no. Godrays. AC IV has them, you see, but only on PC. And also only if you use Nvidia tech, because blah blah blah proprietary nonsense blah blah blah graphics. That does mean a subtly nicer-looking experience, though. And while I doubt Ubisoft gave our version a last-second shove so it could tighten up the graphics on level three, it’s at least something.

This is a PS3 Vs. PS4 video, so we should at least get some sort of idea of the visuals on Wii U.
