Having drained the blood from the Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate will next dine on Steam, at an unknown date later in March.

Originally released on Nintendo's handheld as a bridge between Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and the recently-released Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, Mirror of Fate sees Trevor Belmont traversing the familiar gothic climes of Dracula's domain. Gameplay is a cross between the action-focused Lords of Shadow games and those Castlevania entries (mostly notably Castlevania: Symphony of the Night) that focus on 2D exploration.

The PC incarnation of Mirror of Fate is based on the more recent PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 games, which means that it comes equipped with high-definition graphics, online leaderboards and a Boss Rush mode. New to the PC game are Steam Achievements, though they should be essentially identical to the Achievements and Trophies found in the Xbox 360 and PS3 games, respectively.

Unfortunately lacking from Konami's announcement is a price point for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate HD, and any specific release date. The best the publisher is willing to offer is a vague "later this month" release window which only leaves about two weeks for Dracula to crawl from his tomb once again. [Image: Konami]

Candy Crush Saga makers King Digital Entertainment Plc, says it expects to price its initial public offering at $21-$24 per share, valuing the company at up to $7.6 billion.

King, which became notorious within the games industry after trademarking and enforcing use of the common word "Candy," saw its revenue grow to $602 million in Q4 2013 from only $22 in the first quarter of 2012. Though King's portfolio features 180 games for mobile devices, Facebook and through its own site, analysts note that most of the company's growth was directly linked to its Candy Crush games and questioned whether King could maintain its growth rate going forward.

"I think the valuation of a P/E ratio of 13 for a high-growth company is indeed reflecting a skepticism about the ability to continue growing at such a rapid pace," professor and IPO expert at the University of Florida Jay Ritter says, according to Reuters. "The ability to come up with future games and get people to pay for the game is a big question mark."

Analysts are quick to compare the high valuation to that of social gaming giant Zynga, which has had its stock price sliced in half since its IPO debuted in 2011 at $10 per share.

According to Reuters, "of the 22.2 million shares on sale in the offering, the company will sell 15.5 million, while stockholders, including Apax Ventures, will sell 6.7 million shares." King's IPO is set to be priced on March 25 and will now begin trading under the NYSE symbol 'KING' on March 26, after recently delaying the plan to prove its worth. The following comes form Dragon Quest X producer Yosuke Saito...

“We’ve only released the game in Japan, so you’ll be getting only Japan’s numbers, but we have about 300,000 people a day who actively enjoy the game. Thanks to having released version 2 at the end of last year, we’ve had even more active players since then.

At the time, we feared that version 2 could have actually decreased the amount of players. However, that didn’t happen so we were relieved. Well, it was a little unexpected that people who purchased version 2 and haven’t even been to Lendagia [One of the main continents in Dragon Quest X].”

Offenburg, 14th March 2014 – German Indie Games Developer Black Forest Games is pleased to announce that it has sold more than a million copies of the award-winning multi-platform game GIANA SISTERS: TWISTED DREAMS, which can now be counted as one of the big success stories in the crowd-funded gaming market. What began as a modest Kickstarter campaign has become a million seller: The great potential of the game became clear during the crowd-funding campaign in 2012 when the pledge goal of $150.000 USD was surpassed within short time. The Windows version of Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams was published on Steam and Gog.com only a few months after the campaign ended. It was followed by the release for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and WiiU in 2013.

The modern remake of the 80s classic Giana Sisters sends players into an entertaining jump'n'run adventure. The main mission is to rescue Giana's sister, Maria, from a mighty dragon that is holding her captive in a dream world. The special charm of the game lies in the smart game mechanics that lets players switch from the real world to the dream world solving puzzles.

"One million copies sold," says Andreas Speer, Managing Director of Black Forest Games, "that absolutely qualifies Giana Sisters as an indie hit – and yet it took a Kickstarter campaign to be able to develop the game. It wouldn't have been possible in the classic way through publisher financing. It is only thanks to the dedication of our 6000 backers that one million gamers (and counting) got the chance to play 'Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams'."

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams and the stand-alone add-on Rise of the Owlverlord have been awarded with several prizes, for example:

German Developer Award "Best Youth Game 2013" (GS:TD Rise of the Owlverlord)
Casual Connect Indieprize Showcase Award "Best Audio 2013"
German Children Software Award Tommi "Best Computer Game 2013"
German Developer Award "Best Sound 2012"
Demonews Game of the Year Award "Best Jump'n'Run and Puzzle Game 2012"

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is also nominated in three categories at this year's European Games Award: Best Art Direction, Sound und Game Design.

Indie developer Black Forest Games announced that its Commodore 64-era revival project Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams has crested one million sales units across all available platforms.

Funded by a successful Kickstarter project, Twisted Dreams is a dimension-shifting platformer that launched in 2012 for Windows, with ports for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U arriving last year. Black Forest's recent sales milestone comes in the wake of Twisted Dreams' recent appearance in Humble Indie Bundle 11, where it accompanied standout indie hits like Guacamelee, Monaco, and Dust: An Elysian Tail.

Black Forest continued to update the Windows version of Twisted Dreams with new content in the years following its initial release, including holiday-themed Christmas and Halloween levels.
