Action RPG Sacred 3 will hack and slash its way to PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 systems in North America on August 26. Deep Silver offered a new trailer for the top-down brawling game, which is geared toward both online (four player) and offline (two player) cooperative multiplayer.

Sacred 3 will be accompanied by a Malakhim class, which joins previous characters from the series, Seraphim, Ancarian, Khukuhru and the Safiri. Deep Silver will also offer an "Underworld Story" piece of downloadable content at the game's launch. In the Underworld Story DLC, players will ascend a tower to face Black Seraphim, a rival from the previous game in the series. [Image: Deep Silver]

Rajas Of India is the next gargantuan expansion for 2012-2013′s best strategy game, Crusader Kings II. Your date with the Rajas is set for March 25th, which should give you just enough time to buy something nice to wear and book a table at that fancy restaurant that everybody keeps going on about. I’ve already gathered a wealth of information about what to expect, as well as thoughts on the expanded map, and new faiths and cultures. The ten minute video below contains much of the same information, delivered directly from the mind and mouth of Henrik Fåhraeus, the man who made the Middle Ages.

If the only thing preventing you from leaping off a tall building is the fear that gravity might turn your insides into outsides, Gaijin Entertainment and Topware Interactive have a solution: Skydive: Proximity Flight.

The game, which has just debuted on the Xbox Live Arcade at a price of $7, allows players to virtually strap themselves into a wingsuit and leap into the wild blue yonder. Thanks to Kinect functionality, virtual daredevils can use their bodies to maneuver through the game's "picturesque landscapes and majestic, real life locations," while those who master simply surviving the trip can turn their focus toward aerial stunts. While gracefully falling thousands of feet is the core draw of the game, Skydive: Proximity Flight offers races, descents guided by floating rings and freeform dives.

While Skydive: Proximity Flight is currently only available on the Xbox 360, a PlayStation 3 version of the game is said to be in development. Additional information can be found on the game's website. [Image: Gaijin Entertainment]

Having proven itself on iOS, Gun Media's tactical strategy hit Breach & Clear is now coming to the PC, Mac and Linux platforms via Steam.

If that title is totally new to you, you can think of Breach & Clear as a turn-based shooter focused almost entirely on close quarters combat. Players lead a team of hardened spec ops agents who travel the world snuffing out threats and dealing with dangerous situations. The new computer versions of the game feature a revamped interface, new weapons, new missions and the addition of the German KSK as a playable faction.

Breach & Clear is slated for release on March 21, at which point it will feature a $15 price tag. To celebrate the launch, however, developer Gun Media plans to reduce the game's price to $10 "for a limited time." [Image: Gun Media]

Valve tend to approach every project with a similar ethos, regardless of whether they’re making a game, some software, an operating system or, it turns out, a movie. Their first attempt at the latter, a documentary about professional Dota 2 players called Free To Play, spent much of last year being beta tested in front of private audiences, was premiered at The International 3 in Seattle, and then disappeared back into development for another eight months. As of yesterday, it’s now in general release, and available to download for free via Steam.

Echo of the Wilds strands you in the middle of nowhere with ghosts

Goblins, aliens, Nazis, zombies, monsters ... all of these are scary video game enemies, for sure, but none hold a candle to Mother Nature. Well okay, Mother Nature and spooky ghost-deer-people. Such is life in indie PC game Echo of the Wilds, where players explore randomly-generated wilderness brimming with harsh elements and aforementioned spirits.

You'll need to craft tools and survival gear to survive the harsh elements, while also gathering food and seeking shelter. There's a bit more of a narrative focus here than in games like Don't Starve, as your character's ultimate goal is to escape from the wilds and the apparitions that haunt him. Those who want less story and more gameplay have the option of playing in Endless mode, which removes the game's narrative and instead challenges players to survive increasingly difficult odds.

Echo of the Wilds is available now via developer Caiysware's website, and is also up for voting on Steam Greenlight. [Image: Caiysware]
European PlayStation Store slashes prices on Rockstar games

From now until April 2, the European version of Sony's PlayStation Network Store is hosting two sales both focused on massively discounting the prices attached to games bearing the Rockstar Games logo.

The core of the sale is aimed at Max Payne 3 and Grand Theft Auto 4, though these particular discounts only last until March 26. Max Payne 3 was originally £15.99 but is now £5.99 while Grand Theft Auto 4 has seen a similarly impressive price drop from £19.99 to £5.49. The sale also offers sizable discounts on the Max Payne 3 season pass, as well as the two Liberty City Stories released as DLC for Grand Theft Auto 4.

The remainder of the PSN discounts are valid until April 2 and include games like Canis Canim Edit (aka Bully), Red Dead Revolver and all three of the Grand Theft Auto games released for the PlayStation 2. Grand Theft Auto 4 is again the highlight here, as the game's Complete Edition, which was originally priced at £24.99, can be purchased for £7.99.

Papers, Please and The Last of Us honored at GDC awards show

Designer Lucas Pope came close to apologizing for his frequent appearance on stage at 2014's Indie Games Festival Awards, collecting award after award for Papers, Please. The dystopian game of bureaucracy and hard-earned immigration was recognized by a panel of industry peers for its considered narrative, game design, and ... downloadability? Pope couldn't help but poke fun at the vestigial "Best Downloadable Game" category, noting the distinct advantage of making a game that's a quick 40MB download.

Papers, Please also won for innovation in the Game Developers Choice Awards, the more mainstream half of the evening's show. Naughty Dog's own take on dystopia, The Last of Us, won here for best design, best narrative, and best overall game of the year. (This despite fellow nominee Super Mario 3D World having some pretty sweet overalls.)

For the rest of the winners, including some gongs for Device 6, Risk of Rain and Grand Theft Auto 5, please see below.
