High-flying iOS motorcycle stunt sim Joe Danger: Infinity offers a new daily challenge mode in its latest update, developer Hello Games told Joystiq today.

Similar to the daily challenge modes featured in games like Spelunky and OlliOlli, Joe Danger: Infinity's once-a-day challenges pit all players against unique multifaceted level layouts every 24 hours. Scores are tracked both cumulatively and for individual levels -- committed players will rack up larger amounts of coins with every session, giving extra incentive to return to the mode on a daily basis.

Hello Games additionally notes that Joe has crashed a total of 2,268,112 times across all Joe Danger: Infinity play sessions, as of earlier today. If you want to know what dying feels like, you should ask Joe -- he's suffered roughly 1,700 deaths every hour since the game's launch in January.

A portion of a Nintendo Life review...

The compact levels are perfect for portable play, rideable dinosaurs add variety and personality, and the whole experience is wrapped up in brightly-coloured cartoon charm. If you're looking for a retro adventure with a feel of its own, you won't go wrong island-hopping with Higgins.

Coming from a 4Gamer interview with Suda51...

“I believe that when it comes to ‘Grasshopper traits,’ people have different ideas [as to what they are]. Even for us, each staff member at Grasshopper has different ideas. In the midst of that, I personally would like to thoroughly demolish the existing Grasshopper traits, one by one. And by demolishing them, I’d like to propose new ideas, and create new ways to play”

Fuel Industries' planned excavation and documentation of a New Mexico landfill which would, in theory, unearth a burial of E.T. cartridges for the Atari 2600, is currently in negotiations for a dig permit. The Alamogordo Daily News reports that the New Mexico Environment Department has rejected Fuel Industries' waste excavation proposal, saying that it was too "generic" as well as lacking in site-specific details.

Those details aren't just bureaucratic red tape, either. According to the Daily News, the NMED called for further testing of the Alamogordo landfill in 2004, when studies showed increased chemical levels at the site. Twenty-two "compounds of concern" were noted at the time. Imagine cracking open the soil of a landfill to hunt down a video game graveyard only to have noxious fumes and chemicals poison you, like you'd opened up a pharoah's tomb and suffered the mummy's curse.

It's unclear how the delay will impact the development of Fuel Industries' documentary, which was planned to air on Xbox this year. The NMED stated that their findings were sent to Fuel Industries on February 27, but as of March 17, they had not seen a revised proposal. [Image: Atari]

Those hoping to one day dress an inexplicably adorable lump of burlap as Willem Dafoe will see their bizarrely specific fantasies come to life later this week, when LittleBigPlanet adds costumes based on Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls.

Included in the pack are costumes based on protagonist Jodie Holmes, Nathan Dawkins, Cole Freeman and Ryan Clayton. Those first two are the most notable inclusions, as they're characters portrayed by and modeled after Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe, respectively. While our review of Beyond: Two Souls was middling, the PlayStation.blog claims that "[t]hese costumes will allow any Sackboy or Sackgirl to portray these wonderful characters in their very own adventures."

No price point is mentioned for this DLC, but these new costumes will join the LittleBigPlanet DLC roster once the PlayStation Network Store undergoes its weekly update. That should occur at some point on Tuesday, March 25, though the past few weeks have seen Sony miss its usual mark by as much as 24 hours. [Image: Sony]
