To the credit of the ISPs, they all refused to block Pirate Bay voluntarily. It was only after the court order that they have been forced to comply (though apparently at least O2 hasn't blocked it yet? I can still reach the site from here).

switch to a lesser known ISP

My parents are in charge of the ISP, I have no real say in the matter (besides, we're still on contract for a year or so).

Well damn, move to the states when you graduate man. We may have government officials constantly trying to *crag* around with the internet, but at least it isn't a 'My way or the highway' nation.

*EDIT* USUALLY isn't a 'My way or the highway' nation

It is something I have considered, should there be a games/programs development company willing to provide me with a job over there. There's still a long time till that though (3/4 years) and it's largely dependant on the situation.

lot more studios in the states I'll tell you that, and there are more jobs in engineering and computers in general "across the pond". Not a bad option. And it's 2012 man, you can contact your family anytime you want to now-a-days, and even then you're just a short 4 hour flight away anyways.

Also why are they blocking a known honeypot?

Shadoo, it's a European government, they're stupider than American governments when it comes to dealing with new technology and issues in ways that don't involve their 20th century ideals.
