Anonymous users. Allowed? Limited?

- Like?

There would be more activity (but also potential spam/abuse issues). If someone posts for a while without creating an account, there is a good chance they will eventually create one. Better than nothing, right? It has worked well for the cbox.

Possibly. This site is too obscure to let that get bused very much anyway. But I don't suggest it globally, maybe some boards don't allow anonymous posts, and maybe have the option of allowing anonymous posts in a thread you make. In addition i think we've been suggesting a lot of options for how you want your post to work. I sort of subtly suggested adding tags to the end of your post to do that, but I think I'll outright suggest it now. Better than a million checkboxes.

Anonymous users would just be asking for trouble if some 12-year-olds decide to get bored one day, stumble across our site, and decide to raid our site
i agree with weadoo's suggestion; make it so that the thread creator checks a box or something that says "allow anonymous posts" and anonymous users can only respond to those topics (they shouldn't be allowed to create topics anywhere)

Oh crumpled come now, have some honor! Like the mighty digibutter could ever fall to the likes of idiotic 12 year old savages. Have some faith in your web country! I find that after a while isolation forums like ours become the virtual equivalent to a physical nation.
