Coming from a GamesTM interview with Eiji Aonuma...

“We encountered an awful lot of problems from the drastic leap we took with Wind Waker. I think we will be a bit more careful in the future, but if we find a new approach that not just the developers, but also the users would enjoy then I think we will want to break new ground again. But we haven’t found such an approach yet.”

Obviously, we know that gameplay will always come first for Nintendo. With that said, I'd really love to see Zelda make a drastic choice with visuals again. I loved Skyward Sword's look, but I think it's time to really take a big leap.

- gives you several pre-set backgrounds such as Future, Cute or Natural
- put the furnishings where you please
- mimics the time of day in real life
- some items will be interactive
- give the Vocaloids sweets and drinks
- communicate (to a limited degree) with Miku and pals through your microphone

- 3D, third-person dungeon crawler
- control various characters from the series such as Aladdin and Hakuryuu Ren
- loosely interpreted re-imagining of the old Middle East regions
- follows the idea of the cycle of life and death being real
- all living things have a Rukh lifesource which, once extinguished, returns to the Lifestream Rukh flow to be given to a new lifeform
- others can control their Rukh to empower magic or even utilize the magics of others
- those that can do this are called Magi, and titular Aladdin is one of them
- dungeons and castles scattered through the world
- those that can overcome these challenges are called Dungeon Capturers
- this lets you gain the allegiance of the Djinn residing there
- also allows the ability to summon the powers of that dungeon for themselves and others
- due out in Japan on Feb. 13th

PN: Can you describe some of the Wii U features in Ping 2?

Christopher: Asynchronous gameplay is a goal. I don’t want to simply just clone the TV screen to the Wii U Gamepad screen and call it done. It should offer something different than the PC and PS3 versions too. Also the gyroscope will be used in the FPS mode to aim/look around the world to make it easier to exactly shoot where you want. The camera will be used also to put your face on the cube doing the game if you would like. I found this feature very hilarious on NintendoLand and I want to try and make Ping a social experience too. Something you turn on when you have company over. We’ll be announcing more specific Wii U features as we learn more about the hardware. Lots to learn about the system in and out.

PN: Any game features besides singleplayer?

Christopher: Multiplayer local play is going to be available for the PS3 and Wii U version. 5 players for Wii U and 4 players on the PS3. They’ll be FPS death matches in the style of Goldeneye/Perfect dark. Also being able to take turns in the story mode is another way to play with a friend. Think of how the score keeping is done on Super Mario World for the SNES. You take turns and each player has their own score and set of lives.

A portion of a Joystiq review...

Batman: Arkham Origins - Blackgate is a sort of day-in-the-life of Batman, full of the normal (for him) joys of tossing batarangs and intimidating lowlife criminals. He's not always out on a grand galactic adventure with Green Lantern or time traveling to the year 85,271. Sometimes he's got to hide in an air vent in a prison, waiting to put some dude in a sleeper hold. And even on those days, it's pretty good to be Batman.

Last week, we had hope of that exclusive Assassin's Creed IV content on PS3/PS4 heading to other platforms. The latest trailer indicated that the content was six months exclusive, which would seem to indicate a chance of other platforms getting the goods. Ubisoft has just stated that the content will never leave those platforms, so hope of that content coming to Wii U has been official squashed.
