SS: Your distinct performance as Adam Jensen sent shock waves around the industry and it seems that your voice will forever be tied to that character, even though you have a varied vocal range. How do you manage to distance yourself from such a seminal role?
ET: It’s a blessing and a curse. I’ve been replaced on jobs after Jensen got so popular. People were a little worried about their characters sounding like one who, now, is very specifically recognizable. Of course I can vary my voice and I’ve done it on multiple projects. It’s just that my ‘normal’ voice is a gruff Adam Jensen sound. If you want me to play your protagonist and your protagonist is your basic “cool good guy” I’m going to sound like Adam Jensen. So I get it.
I’m not trying to distance myself because I don’t think it hurts my career at all. If people like my voice and buy other games I’ve performance captured characters in then that’s great. If they tune in when I’m on TV that’s fantastic. Sure, I’ve lost a job here and there because of Adam. Not enough to complain about it though. Especially with all the added, outside success it’s brought me.

In the sixth instalment of the series, Professor Layton receives a letter from Professor Desmond Sycamore, a like-minded archaeologist who claims to have discovered a 'living mummy'. Torrance, Calif., (November 8, 2013) – XSEED Games, the independent-minded console publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., today announced that the buxom ninja brawler, SENRAN KAGURA Burst, will be released in North America on November 14, exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS hand-held system as a Nintendo eShop digital download at a price of $29.99. Fans can now check out the game’s newly launched website at www.hanzonationalacademy.com, as well as view a new trailer giving some background on the Hanzō Academy, one of the two rival factions in the game.
An over-the-top side-scrolling action title with a sense of humor, SENRAN KAGURA Burst is set in a prestigious academy which serves as a front for an underground school where female students are secretly trained in the art of ninjutsu. Consisting of two separate storylines, Skirting Shadows introduces players to the “good shinobi” of Hanzō Academy while its counterpart, Crimson Girls, turns the tables to tell the same tale from the rival Hebijo Academy’s point of view.
Players assume control of their chosen school’s five primary female characters who aspire to become full-fledged shinobi. Within the academy’s “Ninja Room” hub, character interactions reveal the thoughts and feelings of the students before and after each game mission. Adventure novel-style story scenes then precede other missions, offering a deeper look into the world of SENRAN KAGURA. Throughout the game, players will complete combat assignments for each of the main characters, including retrieval missions, multi-character battles and epic boss fights to advance the game’s plot. During combat, damage to the girls is revealed through the gradual destruction of their shinobi outfits, eventually leaving them in their bikinis when they’re in danger of being KO’d. Fans of the series will be delighted to experience the original Japanese voice-overs, which have been left intact and will be accompanied by English subtitles.
Players can earn experience and level up throughout the story, unlocking new moves, powers and outfits. The Nintendo 3DS system’s stereoscopic 3D capability is supported, allowing Shinobi Transformations, special moves, victory poses and a few additional surprises to be viewed in full 3D.
SENRAN KAGURA Burst is developed by Tamsoft together with MarvelousAQL Inc. of Japan. XSEED Games will publish the title as a digital download on the Nintendo eShop in North America on November 14. The game is rated T for Teen by the ESRB. Mark Rubin: Treyarch. Treyarch has a Wii U team specifically for just doing Wii U. That's all they do. They only do the Wii U games for every title. It was a Wii team that turned into a Wii U team. But still, yeah, five platforms.
E: What happens next for Infinity Ward and Call of Duty? Do you think it's now time Call of Duty left the modern warfare setting behind, or do you feel there's still a lot more you guys can do in that space?
Mark Rubin: There's tonnes of time. I don't think the modern era holds us back at all. Ghosts is such a departure from the Modern Warfare universe. It's got its own new universe. There's tonnes of stuff we can explore.
It's not about, does my weapon shoot bullets or laser beams? It's about, are we telling compelling stories and are we making fun gameplay? Honestly, the brainstorming sessions I've talked about in the past are starting right now at the studio with small groups, particularly on the single-player. They're trying to think about what they want to do next.
If you haven't played the campaign yet... One of the things I'm really happy about with the way the campaign came out is how rich that world we've created is and how much cool stuff there is there to do. Let's say we do a couple of games on the Ghosts style, and then we could go and do another subtitle game.
