We’ve got a ton of new information about the upcoming release of Resident Evil Revelations for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U to share with you.

Resident Evil newcomer Rachel, who made her debut in the 3DS release of Resident Evil Revelations, will be joining Hunk as a brand new playable character in Raid Mode. Screenshots showing Rachel and Hunk in action are now available over at the press site. PAX EAST attendees will be able to play as both new characters for the first time this weekend in the Capcom booth #948.

Resident Evil Revelations features two brand new enemies, including the Wall Blister and a surprise new creature that appears in Raid Mode once players have reached a certain level. Screenshots of both are available for download today.

Wii U players will be able to take advantage of the unique features of that system with three different styles of play. Using the screen on the GamePad players can quickly access their map and weapons, or switch the GamePad out for a Wii U pro controller. Alternatively, players are able to transfer all the horror to the GamePad as the title utilizes Off TV play.

The Miiverse feature will offer Wii U players further exclusives. Players can post a dying message on the Game Over screen for other players around the world to see. The ‘Creatures Voice’ function allows players to personalize the thoughts of enemies in Raid Mode to taunt their friends. Screens of all the Wii U functions can be downloaded here.

Resident Evil Revelations supports Residentevil.net with online events and in-game connectivity planned for after launch. Exclusive dioramas of the game’s characters and enemies can be collected through the online service. Earn custom parts and weapons for use in Raid Mode and items for Campaign Mode.

Resident Evil Revelations will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U across North America on May 21 and Europe on May 24.

#residentevil I really liked the 3DS game Resident Evil: Revelations. So did Stephen. So it was cool to hear that it'd be coming to consoles and PC so that people could play the game—which really does feel like a "proper" console Resident Evil game—on their TVs. More »

#residentevil After 16 years and nine full entries in the saga, Resident Evil may be at the point where it needs more than a fresh coat of paint. The series' producer hinted to Eurogamer that it may be due for "a slight reboot," to try to make it compelling again after Resident Evil 6 sank under poor reviews and disappointing sales. More »

Survival horror fans! I’m super excited today to announce that Resident Evil Revelations is heading to PS3 this May. I know a lot of you guys have been patiently waiting for this one so we’re happy to be bringing you the definitive Resident Evil Revelations experience along with some new extras. For those that haven’t heard of RE Revelations, it’s a little bit different than some of the other Resident Evil titles you may have heard of or played recently. Revelations harkens back to the classic “survival-horror” style gameplay where you’ll be exploring dark, creepy areas with little (and sometimes no) ammo to protect yourself from whatever might be lurking around the next corner.

The storyline focuses on Jill Valentine and her partner Parker Luciani as they track down the whereabouts of series standby Chris Redfield and his new partner Jessica Sherawat. Jill and Parker are investigating the last known coordinates of their comrades on an abandoned cruise ship known as the Queen Zenobia when they’re thrown into the middle of bio-terrorist conspiracy full of danger, mystery, and of course plenty of T-abyss mutants.

What’s new to the package? On top of the core campaign and co-op RAID mode experience we’re adding new character costumes and new playable characters and features to RAID mode, providing an even higher difficulty mode called “Infernal Mode” for RE ninjas, adding a new enemy to the mix and randomized positions for all enemies, reduced load times, more save slots, more weapon customization parts, more character skills, ResidentEvil.net integration/unlockables, completely reworked visuals, and of course lest we not forget the fact that you’ll get to play all of this in high definition in the comfort of your own home on PS3.

Resident Evil Revelations will be available May 21st in North America (May 24th for our Euro friends) on PS3 via retail disc or as a day-one digital download on PSN for $49.99. Hope you guys enjoy the game and be sure to hit me up on PSN for some RAID mode!

If you missed out on Resident Evil: Revelations because it was a 3DS exclusive, Capcom’s taking that excuse off the table. Revelations is headed to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC on May 21.

You may or may not take issue, though, with Capcom charging $50 for this upgraded version of the game. It’ll arrive on a physical disc for Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U, and also launch digitally day-one for PS3 and PC. Digital launches on both Xbox 360 and Wii U are promised at a later date.

This version comes with a few other additions, too. Hunk is now playable in Raid mode, which has one or two players fighting through single-player maps outfitted with new enemy layouts. Capcom has also added a new enemy type, more weapon customization options, and another difficulty mode.

And you know what? Resident Evil: Revelations was a better game than Resident Evil 6. There was more tension and atmosphere in Revelations’ primary ship location than anything I came across in the way-too-long RE6.

Back in November, Korean ratings board GRB posted listings for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Resident Evil: Revelations; a port that Capcom has yet to officially announce in any capacity. Now, purported achievements for the 360 version have surfaced, listing the game's full title as Resident Evil: Revelations Unveiled Edition.

The achievements themselves reveal little, beyond the fact that both Campaign and Raid modes will make the jump from handheld to console, should this all shake out. As intrigued as we are, the idea of a 3DS to console port brings up many questions, though the fact that the word "revelations" is spelled correctly is promising. We've reached out to Capcom for comment.

Resident Evil: Revelations may be about to reveal itself on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, if a listing on Korean ratings board GRB is accurate. According to GRB, Capcom Entertainment Korea applied for the survival-horror shooter to be rated for 360 and PS3. Revelations came out for 3DS earlier this year.

Capcom sees Revelations as something similar to the survival horror of the original Resident Evil. After a mixed critical response to the more action-oriented Resident Evil 6, it may well be good timing for Revelations to come to home consoles.

LOOK AT THAT THING.

It will always feel, look, and sound ridiculous to outfit the 3DS with the Circle Pad Pro, even for games like Resident Evil: Revelations, where it legitimately enhances the experience.

Since the 3DS XL will not include a second stick, Andriasang (via Famitsu) reports Nintendo will also issue another stick add-on.

There’s no word on when it will arrive, how much it will cost, and whether it’ll remain in Japan (doubtful), but if you’re worried about upgrading and having that second stick, it’s no longer an issue.

I still do not expect Nintendo to support the Circle Pad Pro outside of how it was handled within Kid Icarus: Uprising, which made the game far easier for left-handed players.

#residentevil Anyone who follows video games knows that action games are big — very big. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 shattered sales records far and wide in its first 24 hours on store shelves and raked in a billion dollars in well under three weeks. The American video game market loves shooting things, and we love doing it in a fast-paced way. More »

A portion of a Siliconera review...

You have to be incredibly cautious because Resident Evil: Revelations is absolutely a survival game, although I would classify it as a “survival adventure”. There’s really no horror aspect, though I will admit jumping once or twice when a BOW appeared seemingly out of nowhere. The game provides just enough ammo to defeat bosses and a handful of other enemies.

A portion of an MTV review...

This may be the first game I've ever played that ended with text informing the player of a bureaucratic realignment as major plot-point and a final battle that seemed ripped from another game entirely. Worse still, among all of the bio weapons that Revelations amasses against you, there's one lone zombie (yeah I know they weren't technically zombies in 4 or 5, but they were close enough). I think "boring" is often an easy way out of articulating the problems with a game, but when Revelations isn't frustrating, it's simply boring you with its limited scope and vision.
