Kizuki Kokone:

- newest addition to the Wright Anything Agency
- studied law in the United States
- a girl who is full of emotions and hates to lose
- special ability of being able to use to a witness’ emotions by listening to their “Heart’s Testimony”
- her strong emotions can sometimes be her weakness
- they can occasionally cause her to be reckless when things get heated
- her goal is to become a lawyer who can solve cases by listening to the hearts of others
- Kokone’s ability is known as the ‘Heart Scope’
- listen to the witness’ heart and get the truth out of any contradictory statements
- she uses a screen that appears floating in thin air to use the Heart Scope
- this is followed by a monitor check on what the wintess’ heart has to say
- you’ll also hear noises mixed in with the testimonies
- you’ll have to reduce the noise level in order to hear the truth
- on the screen you’ll see a mix of testimonies and emotions
- the four faces showing different emotion will be the key of figuring out whether there are contradictions mixed with the testimonies
- once you’ve successfully cleared the Heart Scope, the noise level will go to 0%

Apollo Justice

- the reasons behind the bandage wrapped around his right eye and both arms is unknown
- the jacket he has around his shoulders hasn’t been seen before

3D investigations

- characters and cases will all be presented in 3D
- this includes courtroom and adventure parts
- start out by looking left and right around the room to check for suspicious looking spots
- 3D investigation can give you different angles when viewing

- producer is Motohide Eshiro
- the four writers and the character designer lodged together for four days and three nights
- this was for a brainstorming session
- this is when they came up with the “impactful event”
- Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth had never been the main playable character prior to the Investigations games, so his quirks were easy to work wit
- with Phoenix, it took much more time to grasp his character
- the team wanted to create a Phoenix that inherited his traits from Apollo Justice
- they also brought back some of his “youth” from Trials and Tribulations
- Kokone Kizuki's name comes from a play on words for “to notice things” and “listening to the heart or soul”
- she was designed to be a heroine who actively fights alongside Phoenix
- she's a defense attorney working under Phoenix
- her first design was extremely sci-fi-esque
- the monitor (named “Monita”) hanging from her neck is what enables the special “Heart Scope” function
- Yamazaki suggested a system where one could see through the various emotions a witness goes through as he’s giving his account
- These emotions would hold the key to seeing through the various preconceptions and prejudices of people dragged into such an extreme situation
- the staff are aware that there will be much resistance to new voice actors and sounds
- they still feel it's important to change things
- the staff wanted the game sequences to work with the anime scenes
- returning characters were carefully selected by Eshiro
- he considered characters that were not only very popular but also those who would fit into the story

- starts with the old courthouse getting blown up
- the culprit is a police officer with strange goggles and a disdain for defense attorneys
- an innocent girl named Shinobu is blamed for the mess
- Shinobu is Kokone’s childhood friend
- Kokone is Phoenix Wright’s new assistant
- you walk into court from a first person perspective
- the camera spins around the courtroom when the jury chats
- Winston Payne’s younger brother is one of the prosecutors
- he asks Barashima Shingo, who works in the bomb squad, to take the stand
- Shingo is quite eccentric
- he has red/blue goggles that bug out and a wrist computer he uses to talk with
- no voice acting
- Kokone will pull out *her* wrist computer called the Heart Scope
- this lets players see emotions when another character testifies
- it can detect happy, sad, surprised, and angry
- Shinobu should have felt happy or relieved because she wasn’t injured during the bombing, but she was sad
