Are you in Japan, and simply aren't satisfied with only being able to purchase one version of Call of Duty: Black Ops? Chill out! Square Enix, the game's Japanese publisher, is localizing the game in two separate SKUs, allowing you to buy it not just once, but twice!

According to the Call of Duty: Black Ops Japanese blog, the subtitled version will be released first on November 18, while the dubbed one -- featuring a "major voice cast" -- won't be released until December 16. Unfortunately, both versions will carry the same, painfully high ¥7,980 ($95) price.

Epic Games president Mike Capps took the stage at Apple's live event today to announce Project Sword (codename), an Unreal Engine 3 powered game for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad due later this year. Based in a medieval setting, it's a sword fighting action game with versus battles and it looks amazing. To quote Steve Jobs following the announcement: "It's on a phone ... !"

Project Sword will support multiplayer and achievements via Apple's Game Center infrastructure. We'll have more details on the game as we get 'em.

Just announced in Apple's Keynote was news that Game Center is (finally!) coming to iPhone's in iOS 4.1. It bears the new, greener look we saw back in July and, as Steve Jobs noted, has a heavy focus on multiplayer. Beyond playing games with friends, there's matchmaking and leaderboards across multiple games; it's more or less Steam for your phone.

Jobs says iOS 4.1 - and thusly, Game Center -- will be arriving "next week," though it won't be arriving on iPad until iOS 4.2 in November. We'll be getting our Canabalt scores as high as possible before next week.

If you’re heading to the 2010 Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, Washington this weekend, we’ve got a bit of a treat for you: Killzone 3 will be there, and YOU can go hands-on with the game’s multiplayer mode! This will be the first time the Killzone 3 multiplayer mode is accessible to the public, so we’re really anxious to hear what you think. To make sure as many people as possible get a shot, we’ve got 16 multiplayer pods set up, with 8v8 matches rolling over constantly. On top of that there’ll be seven single-player pods available, three of which sport glorious 3D! We’ll be giving away Killzone swag bags at the booth so make sure you get down there early since quantities are limited.

Looks like rumors do come true -- some sooner than others. Sony has announced a new program for a variety of its devices, including PS3 and PSP, called "Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity." According to the announcement, it is a new "cloud-based digital music service" to be available by year's end -- well, at least for Europe (where the announcement took place). With Music Unlimited, subscribers will be able to access "millions of songs." Further details will be announced in the future, but right now, Sony's service sounds strikingly similar to Microsoft's own Zune Pass.

In addition to PlayStation products, the service will be compatible with Bravia TVs, Blu-ray disc players, home theater systems, and VAIO computers "with one single account and without the need to manage digital files." Looks like Sony's come a long way from the ATRAC days!
