Several tipsters have reported that Halo: Reach may be plagued with the dreaded "disc read error" problem. It seems that some users are greeted either with a disc read error or a frozen screen when inserting the disc. Installing the game onto the hard drive apparently does not ameliorate the issue. Based on what Bungie forum users are reporting, the problem appears to be related to hardware, as a disc might not read in one console, but will work properly in another.
The cause of the problem hasn't been uncovered. In the meantime, Bungie advises those affected to call Xbox customer support (1-800-FOR-MY-XBOX) to report the issue. We've contacted Microsoft and will update this post when more information becomes available.
Realtime Worlds community officer Ben Bateman just popped on the APB official forums to present this sad bit of news: The game is shutting down for good. In his statement, Bateman says, "APB has been a fantastic journey, but unfortunately that journey has come to a premature end."
Apparently the servers are still up for the time being, so if you've got the game, you're encouraged to hop in and pour one out for Realtime Worlds' gangsta-sim.
after like, 2 months of release. i dont think anyone gave two shits about APB anyway
If the recently announced God of War: Ghost of Sparta hardware bundle just isn't enough Kratos to satisfy your obsession, Sony's keen to remind you that you can deepen your devotion by pre-ordering the game. Your commitment will net you a bonus pack of extras; each of which will be individually highlighted on the PlayStation Blog over the following weeks.
While only the Kratos PSN Avatar has been fully revealed, it's probably not too much of a stretch for God of War devotees to imagine what the other bonuses entail. Also included with a Ghost of Sparta pre-order: the original soundtrack, the "God of War Live" creative directors documentary, a Legionnaire character skin, and both a PS3 Dynamic and PSP theme.

Next year, my family and I are planning to buy a new car. So who better to ask about that than a guy known for creating "The Real Driving Simulator". More »
With TGS humming along, Capcom has released some brand new media for Fatshark's Bionic Commando Rearmed 2. We've got two new gameplay videos along with a handful of screenshots, all featuring the newly mustachioed Nathan Spencer at his swinging best. Check 'em out after the break.
I’ve been keeping an eye on this ‘bubbling’ image fad going around. As you can tell, it’s being used to make clothed characters look naked. I just didn’t think someone would take the time to do this to video game characters!
It’s a spot created by LA ad firm Wolfbreeder, and Sony’s name is nowhere to be found. You have to wonder if Sony was attached to the creation of this project. I’m not going to jump to conclusions, so I’ll leave the discussion up to you guys.
We'd describe what's in Red Dead Redemption's "Liars and Cheats" pack launching September 21, but the corporate safety voice-over guy after the break does a pretty swell job explaining everything. The DLC will cost 800 MS points or $10 on Xbox Marketplace and PSN, respectively.
Here’s some great news for Tetris fans that wanted to play the latest title on their TV instead of their handheld. It has been confirmed that Tetris Party Deluxe’s Wii version is also going to see release in Australia. For awhile there, we thought that only the DS version was going to hit [...]
No matter what the next Legend of Zelda game is, I’m always excite for it. I have yet to be let down by a Zelda game yet, and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword looks like it’s going to keep that tradition. Not only does the game have a gorgeous visual style, it’s [...]

What will you say when little Sally asks, "Daddy, what did you do during the Siege of Columbia?" Will you tell her that you stood with your Ultranationalist compatriots against the foreign hordes, or that you rejected your floating paradise in favor of the common man?
BioShock Infinite proposes just such questions with the recent release of a handful of propaganda art pulled directly from Columbia's walls. Game Informer has them exclusively as part of coverage of the game leading up to the Saturday Evening Post-style cover story in its next issue. We absolutely suggest you check out the pics, but try not to be swayed by the WWII-esque sentiments.
