Despite the eventual existence of Final Fantasy Agito XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII, there's apparently still room for more "Fabula Nova Crystallis" games from Square Enix. Maybe.

In an interview in the Final Fantasy XIII Ultimania Omega guide, producer Yoshinori Kitase expressed an interest in continuing the Final Fantasy XIII story. "I'd like to at some point make a story where Lightning ends up happy," director Motomu Toriyama said. Whether or not this becomes a game depends on demand from fans.

The team also revealed content that was planned as DLC but cut from Final Fantasy XIII: an area called "Seventh Ark" that would have offered "free battles." This was axed for quality reasons, as well as for differences in PSN and Xbox Live.

Time heals all wounds -- for Panasonic, the pain of the 3DO must be entirely behind the company because it's entering the game space again with a new piece of hardware: The Jungle. The handheld is specifically geared toward giving MMO players a means to take their game on the go and sports a full QWERTY keyboard and high-res display, plus a touch-sensitive d-pad and buttons.

Our sister site Engadget has some more on the technology aspect of the newly-revealed handheld, so head on over there for more. If you want to see some teaser footage, head past the break for a trailer.

Metal Gear Solid's "codec frequency on the box" gag wasn't the first time Hideo Kojima thought about integrating a game's packaging with the contents of the game. Kojima tweeted the story (and Andriasang translated) of how he originally thought to cover the disk for the PC-8801 version of the cyberpunk adventure game Snatcher with a paint that smelled like blood.

The idea was that as you played, the disk would get warm, and eventually your computer would "release the smell of the crime scene." Or, to think of it another way, the scent of blood would gently waft out of your computer, freaking you the hell out. He now calls it the "Dead Smell Project." In a more sensible plan, Kojima also wanted to use the heat of the computer to hide a message on the disk, only visible when it was warm.

yesterday my brother went out and bought a playstation DEELDOE and a mini deeldoe controller. we weren't sure what to get so we just kind of rested on eyepet. all i can say is dont go into this expecting deep gameplay. more than anything, it's an advanced tech demo. it's really fun to play with toys with the pet and stuff.

also if you get the squirtgun out you can squirt your ass and then pet the pet to sleep and see if he dreams about it

it's awesome

Slim
I dream of ass squirting
Hooly

that's really all it is, just something to screw around with for a half an hour a day. im at the drawing recognition area of the game, and this is probably the only thing i can complain about. the directions are terribly vague and this just demonstrates that the pseye's lighting isn't as good as it could be.

i have managed to get by using the camera on my iphone

yey

Following the completion of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (and its release this week), Ninja Theory has turned to the next project on its plate, DmC: Devil May Cry. However, studio head Tameem Antoniades tells Eurogamer that an Enslaved sequel isn't entirely off the table. In fact, Antoniades says the studio has the "capacity to do two games."
"The thinking from the beginning was not to assume there would be a sequel -- just to put everything into this game. It's a new IP, so let's not plan for a sequel because the chances are we'll only disappoint ourselves. So we mentally prepared for that -- we've not planned for a sequel. But if it gains some traction, I'd like to see something happen." Before there's any sequel talk, people will have to buy the game, of course. And Enslaved is going up against some stiff competition as the fall season ramps up; beginning this week with Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. But, hey, even if a sequel's ruled out, at least there will be DLC.

An ostentatious Classic Controller Pro isn't the only bonus you'll get for picking up Goldeneye 007's "Classic Edition" bundle. You'll also get immediate access to the "Classic Conflict" multiplayer mode, in which players will pick from eight classic characters (Jaws, Oddjob, Baron Samedi, Dr. No, Scaramanga, Red Grant, Rosa Klebb and Blofeld), respawning as a different character after each death.

Non-Classic Edition buyers will get to play Classic Conflict as well, but they'll have to wait until they reach level 35 in online multiplayer to unlock it. And why spend all that time playing the game you bought, when you can just pay more to avoid that nuisance?

Turn-based strategy games have always been up there with creased jeans and Styrofoam as among my biggest turn-offs. There's something about the static, menu-based gameplay that runs contrary to what I usually look for in a game.

So when my girlfriend wants to check out Skulls of the Shogun at PAX, I reluctantly decide to indulge her. It's good to try new things. Little did I know I was about to discover a highlight of the show.

Joseph Olin (pictured), president of the The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, has announced he's stepping down to "pursue new opportunities." Part of his AIAS duties included hosting DICE and the Annual Interactive Achievement Awards, the 13th installment of which took place back in February and was streamed through IFC.com.

Taking over the role as AIAS president will be Martin Rae, who will work with Olin throughout the remainder of the year to ensure the 10th annual DICE Summit and subsequent 14th installment in the Annual Interactive Achievement Awards both go off without a hitch. Rae's track record consists of time spent as CEO of Sunleaf Studios, a "virtual world/Internet game company" and time spent at Boss Entertainment, working with both Boss Game Studios and The Electric Playground.

Here’s a typical exchange at an SCEA event planning meeting:

“We’re going to be holding a media event in New York.”
“Can we get some Blog readers in?”
“Yeah, sounds good.”

That’s how you get events like this and this and this.

And now this: We’re holding a PlayStation Move media event in NYC on Wednesday (October 6th), featuring Heroes on the Move, TV Superstars, The Shoot, SingStar Dance and the newest build of The Fight which nobody outside of PlayStation has yet played. It’s ass-kickingly good :)

While I wish I could bring all of you in to go hands-on with this next wave of PlayStation Move games, it’s being held at a venue with a capacity of less than 100 people. So instead of having the place fill up in 30 seconds and disappointing a lot of people who lined up for a long time, we’re going VIP style.

So if you’re in New York (the event will be in the Midtown area), available from 7-9pm, and crave playing things before you can buy them, please RSVP at playstationnymeetup@gmail.com.

Please give us your first and last name, and indicate if you will be bringing a +1… if you don’t say so, we’re going to assume that you’re coming by yourself. No +2s or +3s or +50s, please. Also, this is a 21+ event; I did say VIP :) ID will be checked!

If you’re among the first to reply, we’ll notify you via email by tomorrow (Tuesday) at noon Pacific. We’ll also select some alternates to fill any spots vacated by no-shows, so fingers crossed.
