This is pretty exciting to us - it's the first time a game made by someone other than us allows you to find TF2 items by playing it. If you'd asked us, as we slaved away on TF2 back in '63, whether one day you'd be able to get the Heavy's first minigun off him by playing poker, we'd think you were nuts. Then we'd have hired you, because you had a vision for the future.

If you're curious, here's the set of items that you'll be able to collect inside Poker Night at the Inventory:

  • The Enthusiast's Timepiece - Tycho's favorite timepiece (equippable by the Spy)
  • License to Maim - Max's Badge (equippable by all classes)
  • The Lugermorph - A second chance at Max's personal armament (equippable by the Scout and the Engineer)
  • The Iron Curtain - The Heavy's first love (equippable by the Heavy, obviously)
  • Dangeresque, Too? - Strong Bad's styling glasses (equippable by the Demoman)

Square Enix announced today that some changes have been made to the Japanese localized version of Call of Duty: Black Ops. All dubbed copies of the PC and console versions will see swastikas replaced with the Iron Cross in zombie mode. Strangely, the subtitled version of the game, which will be released prior to the dubbed version, will retain the swastikas.

1UP notes that Square Enix announced other cuts to all versions of the game last month, namely scenes of dismemberment and scenes of extreme violence during an interrogation. Furthermore, the company issued an apology as part of today's statement, as it previously stated that the zombie mode would not be altered from the US version.

In Dragon Age 2, the story takes shape as it is passed along from narrator to listener. A short, plump man sits upon a throne and regales his unnamed female counterpart with the tale of our new hero, Hawke. In my preview session with executive producer Mike Darrah, I sampled two different versions of the game's opening: an exaggerated introduction of the powerful Hawke and her crew; followed by what really happened.

Hi all!

Here’s this week’s PlayStation Store Comics update. There are many new comic series once again!

5143846766_daa5878093.jpg

Marvel’s Iron Man: The Inevitable (2005) starts this week with issues #1 to #5. In this mini-series, concluding next week, Iron Man’s long-time enemies come back to haunt him, including classics villains the Living Laser and the Spymaster.

And there’s more Iron Man-related goodness with War Machine (2008). James Rupert Rhodes is an ex-Marine who befriended the legendary Tony Stark and became his personal pilot before blasting into his own ongoing series! This 2008 incarnation by Greg Pak and Leonardo Mancowith comes with a surprisingly familiar supporting cast and one of the biggest villains in the Marvel Universe!

If you still haven’t got your fill of heavy-armored heroes, check out IDW’s Transformers: Sector 7 #1. The secret history of the Transformers is finally revealed, through the multi generational saga of the clandestine spy group code named SECTOR 7. Fans of the Transformers movies will also be happy to know that this comic links directly to a few familiar storylines.

And to keep the Halloween spirit alive, we bring you an adaptation of Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming grindhouse flick Machete. In issue #0, Rodriguez himself, alongside producer Aaron Kaufman, pens the ultimate “Mexploitation” tale of revenge as we see what drew Machete to first pick up the blades. It’s not for the faint-hearted.

And we also have more Dragon Age, Batman, Wonder Woman, Y: The Last Man, and many many others… Here is the full list:

  • 5 Days to Die # 4
  • 2000AD Prog #1701 – #1704

Here's a friendly reminder that the Xbox Live Gold Family Pack is now available. The Family Pack offers up extra four Xbox Live Gold accounts -- along with some extra parental controls -- for $99 a year, a substantial savings over four separate accounts. Before you and three buddies splurge on the Family Pack though, know that there are a few caveats.

The most notable restriction is that only the Primary account holder is allowed to make purchases against the Family Pack's billing account. This makes sense for parents looking to regulate what their kids purchase, but it's not terribly convenient for say, your dorm buddies. Thankfully, MS Point cards can be redeemed by any account under the family plan, so it's possible to work around the restriction.

Also, all four accounts must reside on the same Xbox before being transferred to a Family Pack. Once an account is part of the Family Pack, however, users are free to recover them on another console. Finally, all content will be licensed to the console on which it was purchased, as well as to the account that purchased it. In other words, if little Jimmy buys an XBLA game, everyone on that console can play it, but Jimmy can play it on any console so long as he logs into Xbox Live.

$99 is definitely a good deal for four Live accounts, but we suggest reading through the Family Pack FAQ before taking the plunge.
