Swery65, the director of last year's Deadly Premonition, has taken to the Internet in a new blog posting asking for support for a brand new title. He says that his team at Access Games is itching to start a new project, but game design takes more than just dreams and ideas -- apparently it takes time and money as well. And since time is money, he basically just needs money.

"I want to make a new game," he wrote. "As much as I want, but that alone is not enough to start the process. Would anyone be ready to invest in us?" Swery doesn't say anything about what kind of game he plans to make, but does promise that he'll "work until it kills me," and that the team will definitely "make something good."

Any big-time investors out there willing to call his bluff? It seems like, despite the mixed reception for Deadly Premonition around the world, Swery shouldn't have too much trouble finding a publisher sooner or later. Even if not, there's always Kickstarter, right?

Eager to virtually explore the bizarre world of Agent York in Deadly Premonition, but can't seem to locate a hard copy of the cult hit? Rising Star Games has you covered, as the publisher plans to launch the title digitally through Xbox Live's Games on Demand service next week, on July 5, for an unannounced price -- at least in the UK. We've reached out to DP's North American publisher, Ignition Entertainment, to see if it's landing Stateside as well.

So, rather than spending July 5 sweating profusely, how about grabbing a piping hot cup of coffee, turning on the AC, and walking through the doors of perception with us? Don't worry, we'll bring the pie.

Awesome Japanese game designing insane person Swery65 is obviously a favorite industry personality among the Giant Bomb staff. Between the magical experience the dual Endurance Run teams each had playing through his decidedly wonky survival horror game, Deadly Premonition, and the euphorically loopy interview we conducted with the man this during this past GDC, it's safe to say that we're pretty smitten with the guy and his lovably bonkers antics.

Friends-4-Eva! <3

Thus, it pains us greatly to hear Swery's cries for help as he attempts to assemble his next project. Taking to the official blog hosted by his development company, Access Games, Swery first delivered the painful reminder that it's been a whole year and three months since Deadly Premonition bewildered the hearts and minds of audiences everywhere before enthusiastically exclaiming that he thinks it's high time his team started a new game.

Before you start shouting, "Huzzah! A new Swery game!" and make all your nearby coworkers think you're suffering from aphasia, calm yourself. This new Swery project does not yet exist, and currently, Access has no publishing deal in place with which to secure funding for the new project.

In what might be the most adora-sad part of this whole thing, Swery then goes to the trouble of writing out a list of reasons why a publisher should sign up to work alongside Swery and crew.

I promise I’ll make something good!

Seriously!

I’ll work real hard!

I’ll work until it kills me!

I’m gonna work harder than anyone’s ever worked before!

But, uh, I will need some rest from time to time...

But, but, but, you definitely won’t regret it. I mean it. Please!! (Haha)

Does anyone else feel an almost uncontrollable urge to muss Swery's hair in a playful fashion and offer him some Andy Griffith-inspired homespun parental advice? No? Just me? Weird.

While Deadly Premonition wasn't a huge sales success by any stretch, the fervent cult following it developed over time would hopefully be strong enough to lure some publisher into Swery's next web of baffling weirdness. Or, failing that, perhaps someone will probably just start a Kickstarter campaign. Maybe it won't earn enough to fund his next game, but surely we can scrape together enough to throw the guy a pizza party, or something.

Deadly Premonition, Access Games' creepy, low-budget survival horror adventure starring an insane FBI investigator, is on the way to Europe. Former Marvelous partner and "Home of Japanese Games" Rising Star Games will publish the surreal open-world Xbox 360 game in Europe this "autumn," for £24.99 ($39), which isn't quite as wallet-friendly as the North American release's $19.99 price point, but is still less than full price.

In the press release, Rising Star noted the unusual range of reactions from reviewers, including IGN's 2/10 review. Seriously, this quote is in the press release announcing the game: "Awful in nearly every way... Terrible controls. Terrible pacing. Terrible sound effects. Terrible visuals." Absolutely everything about this game is insane, even the people publishing it.

In the ancient times, when Access Games' survival horror game, Deadly Premonition, was known as Rainy Woods, it was a multiplatform PS3/Xbox 360 title. But when Ignition picked it up, it was announced as a $19.99 budget title for Xbox 360 only. However, the ESRB rating for Deadly Premonition, which lists Ignition as the publisher, shows PS3 in the list of platforms. We're just like the game's Agent Francis York Morgan, except instead of a gruesome, unexplained murder, we're investigating an ESRB rating, and instead of looking around a mysterious town in search of clues, we've emailed Ignition. But it's the same basic thing.

Ignition Entertainment, partnering with recent publisher BFF Marvelous Entertainment, has announced a new survival horror game for Xbox 360 called Deadly Premonition. The game is the second original work from Access Games, who created the PS2 stealth game Spy Fiction, and also codeveloped The Sky Crawlers and Ace Combat X. The game stars an FBI agent investigating a murder in Silent Hill a rural town full of unexplained events, mysterious characters, and, apparently, dripping blood. It will feature exploration and driving in addition to fighting creepy Jawas. Ignition predicts an early 2010 release. If this game looks familiar to you, you have a really good memory! It was announced back in 2007 as Rainy Woods, and was a multiplatform release at the time. It's now been renamed and targeted just at the 360.
