The heir t' a €50 million fortune has confessed t' killing his father with a spiked bat he said be inspired by the weapon in Dead Rising 2. Other ties t' video gaming, t' say nothing a the wealth involved, have helped in riveting Spain's attention t' the June 30 slaying a Andreu Bennasar Coll. Andreu Tur Coll, 18, confessed in court on Friday t' the killing, reports El Mundo. He said that two months ago he had fashioned the spiked bat in imitation a the Dead Rising weapon. It had three nails, all a them about four inches long. "As if it be a macabre coincidence, the violent video game eventually became a reality," reported Diario de Mallorca. it be not the only connection t' gaming. Andreu's accomplice, Francisco Zaragoza Abbas Rodriguez, 20, be someone he met while playing Call a Duty online. Diario reports that the younger Coll said he 'n Abbas would play up t' 12 hours at a time. He be also a big fan a Infamous 2 'n Assassin's Creed III, reports Diario, 'n played online under the handle a "TacticoMen." Together, the two used the spiked bat, a vase, a hammer 'n a large speaker t' bludgeon Andreu's father. Police say he be hit by the spiked bat 40 times. Why? Money would seem t' be an obvious motive. Coll's father had recently made the sea dog the sole heir t' his €50 million fortune amassed, ironically enough, from the sale a arcade games 'n gambling machines. Coll had gone t' live with his dad even though he said he got along better with his mother, 'n claimed that his father psychologically abused the sea dog, especially at work, where he be paid a small salary. The two accomplices, both surfers, be described almost as brothers, 'n one lawyer for Coll said he be essentially manipulated by the older Abbas. Detailed reports a the gruesome killing say Abbas be the one who swung the spiked bat. Coll finished off his father by slamming a large stereo speaker on his head. The two apparently had plotted the elder Coll's death for some time, at one point trying t' slip a vast dosage a sleeping pills into a cake. Both be arrested shortly after the funeral. They staged the body t' look like a robbery turned deadly, then spent hours cleaning the murder scene, but be found out when trace amounts a blood tied them t' the killing. In one anecdote, former Capcom exec Keiji Inafune illustrates how he got so high up in the company 'n the kind a behavior that likely led t' his hasty exit. During a presentation at Kyoto's Ritsumeikan University, the Neptunia Mk-II weapon dished on the corporate culture at Capcom, 'n how he gamed it t' pillage Lost Planet 'n Dead Rising made.

Before those games, he said, Capcom had a rule requiring 70-80 percent a the games produced at the company t' be sequels, 'n the management rejected pitches for new titles even beyond that proportion. Inafune started up two new projects, Lost Planet 'n Dead Rising, 'n just kept them going even after the prototypes be rejected.

Eventually, he exceeded the budget for Lost Planet's prototype by 400%, figuring that Capcom wouldn't cancel it if the game be half done. The strategy worked: both titles made it t' retail, 'n started franchises that have sold over four million units each.

Inafune be already well known for a successful act a guerrilla game-making. After Mega Man, his team be famously only allowed t' develop Mega Man 2 if they did so on their own time, without affecting the schedules a other projects.
