The following blurb pertains to Reika Morishita, the woman behind the Rockman DASH theme songs. She's going to be reprising her role on the tracks, but it seems that the sales of this 'album' could mean big things for Mega Man Legends 3.

"To support our community, she is going to release her Mega Man Legends soundtrack reprisals at the end of May or early July, tentatively. During the meeting yesterday, she said that if her new soundtrack makes over 20,000 sales, Capcom Japan is likely to release the Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype Version on the e-shop. Although there are no guarantees, keep in mind she is a well-networked individual."

It's not a gaurantee by any means, but it's the most positive thing we've heard about Mega Man Legends 3 in a long time. Having that prototype hit the eShop would be great, and of course, it gives me hope for the future of the Legends series in general!

I can't believe it's finally happening. While we heard Miyamoto talk about Pikmin Wii U earlier today, another Nintendo rep has confirmed its presence at this year's show.

"In a recent interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Pikmin game will be shown at the E3 Expo in June. He believes that anyone who has played Pikmin games in the past will enjoy playing."

No more guessing, no more rumors. Pikmin Wii U will finally be on display! Thanks to all that sent this in.

- earnings and profits for the year ending March 31 will slump
- this is due to underperforming games
- plans to cancel games and streamline its operations
- expecting net sales revenue to be ¥46,000 lower than previously predicted
- net income will be ¥20 billion (£153m)
- loss specifically attributed to "the challenging economic climate and significant changes in the home videogame software market environment in the US and Europe. It is essential to streamline organisations in the field of home videogame software in the US and European markets while shifting to a structure that corresponds to [this] change in environment, including strengthening development in the field of digital content."
- job losses on the way, making for "a smaller company positioned for sustained profitability."
- more focus on reliable, long-running IPs including Sonic The Hedgehog, Football Manager, Total War and Aliens
- predicting "extraordinary" losses of ¥7.1 billion (£54.3m), of which ¥4.9 billion (£37.5m) will be costs associated with its restructure

Hiroshi Yamauchi owns the Seattle Mariners...but he's never seen them play. That might change later this year, when the Mariners are set to open the MLB season in Tokyo. This takes place March 28 and 29 in Tokyo. Is this Yamauchi's first shot at actually seeing what his team can do on a first-hand basis?

well at least its not a copy paste of mario party 8. They DID try to change the game, they just made it worse by doing so.

Coming from the official website...

Playing With Friends

This option lets you play with any of the friends you have registered on your Nintendo 3DS system. You can also choose to allow your friends' friends to play with you as well. Your friends can also choose to join you when you're playing a game by using the Friend List on the Nintendo 3DS's HOME menu. Note that they can not immediately join in a game that's in progress. Instead they will be taken to the lobby to wait for the next game to begin.

Looks like we've got another one like Mario Kart 7 on our hands. Thanks to Greg for the heads up!

Does anyone in the 3DS crew care about this?

Coming from an Aksys team member, via messageboard...

Unfortunately we don't have any plans, but I hope some nice publisher picks it up >.

Really surprised to hear that Aksys hasn't secured this one yet. I'm sure the game will come stateside at some point, but it appears that Aksys may not be the ones involved. Thanks to Rockman for the heads up!

Here's a bit of a blast from the past. After some much smarter people went diving through game data, we've come to find out that Metroid Prime was actually running on a heavily modified version of the Unreal Engine 2. The things you don't learn until years later! Thanks to KingBroly for the heads up!

This is what Nintendo fans put up with. It's going to be like this until Nintendo disappears...and as this list shows, that's probably not going to happen.

This just in from an exclusive Wired interview, it seems Miyamoto is ready to step down from his current position in favor of some smaller duties. Good for him.

“Inside our office, I’ve been recently declaring, ‘I’m going to retire, I’m going to retire,’” Miyamoto said through his interpreter. “I’m not saying that I’m going to retire from game development altogether. What I mean by retiring is, retiring from my current position.”

Be sure to check out the rest of their interview at the source link.

GamePro, we reported exclusively back in July, shifted its strategy to become a quarterly publication. That experiment, sadly did not work too well, as we've now learned that the November quarterly issue will be the last one ever, and the GamePro website will be shuttered as well (as of December 5). An IDG spokesman told IndustryGamers that the ad dollars just weren't there, and unfortunately layoffs of staff are being implemented - the spokesman declined to tell us how many were being let go.

Don't think we have GamePro over here in the UK, so this is news to me.

I read their editorial about why they hate the Vita. All they talked about were smartphones. Not even smartphones in general, they referred to them by name. It's almost like they hate games in general. I bet /v/ is mourning their loss.

We've known for awhile now that Adventure Island was heading to the North American 3DS Virtual Console, but we still don't have a date. At least we have some indication of the impending release, as the eShop itself now lists the title as 'coming soon'. Let's hope that 'soon' is next week!

This comes from the credit sequence, which was posted on the YouTube account that we linked earlier today. The blocked-out aspects of the image are related to content that some might consider spoilers.

I wonder just how involved Brownie Brown was in the project. Interesting to see the two pairing up for a traditional Mario game. Has that ever happened before? Thanks to NintenDaan for the heads up!

A portion of a Dtoid review...

This is the kind of game you could once find in abundance on the SNES and Sega Genesis, now refined to a distilled and ultimately superior form. Videogames simply do not get any more pure than Kirby's Return to Dream Land.
