Francis older than one year ago

Showed up at Best Buy 45 minutes before they opened and I was number 4 "in line". They just gave me a number and said come back when the stores opens. I got the Deluxe version, but was unable to get New Super Mario Bros U as they only had a few copies for sale. (How hard is it to burn a disc, Nintendo?)

The people I talked to in line didn't even know what it was, they were just getting it for their spoiled kids. This was nothing compared to the Wii launch 6 years ago.

Now I'm wondering why I bought it. Reviews of the actual console experience are not that great (navigating menus is slow, missing features still to come). I'm not interested in any upcoming games and I have no friends to play local multiplayer games, which is what Wii U will mostly consist of. I think I'm getting too old for this.

I should probably sell it on ebay or craigslist and make $100 bucks if the demand is there, else I might just return it.

This game is so unrealistic. A real jet cockpit wouldn't have room for a dead body and a pilot.

Sadly not many people are discovering the world of Super Paper Mario anymore.  The name "digibutter.nerr" doesn't mean anything to most people.  In fact everytime I mention "digibutter dot nerr, dot biz" to anyone they always give me a puzzled look and walk away. :(

So as the site goes in a new direction, becoming more about gaming and gaming-culture in general, I feel it needs a new name too.  I have decided to use a nametagdammit and change it to The Bitlands (bitlands.com).  The name still retains it's SPM roots, but this is more appealing to the masses.  Plus, I made a schweet logo!

I tend to avoid Apple products, but work got me this hunk of shiny. Any mac users here? Have any suggestions as to what to install or configure?

I managed to get into the Wii U Experience tour in Atlanta. It had lots of white sofas and neon-blue lighting. Also Wii U games. It was slightly dissapointing because they were demos of games you've already heard a lot about and you couldn't see the Wii U menus or anything online related. But overall it was fun, despite the overzealous employees.

Some impressions: The gamepad is lighter than a DS or 3DS, but feels good to hold. The "Pro" Controller (used to play Rayman Legends) was okay too. The buttons seem really light though. I guess I want things to feel more substantional and not like a plastic toy.

Pikmin 3 looks great. Rayman was also beautiful, and had some creative co-op gameplay.

Zombie U multiplayer was interesting, where the player with the gamepad places traps and zombies to kill the player on the big screen. 

I played a lot of Project P-100. From what I saw in the demo, the game seems to be all action. Basically a beat-em-up. Was really hard to draw moves on the gamepad, while pressing a button, while looking at the big screen.

The Nintendo Land games were ok, but you get bored of them pretty quickly.  It's not going to have the same success that Wii Sports had.

I like the Wii U possibilities, but this lineup of games wasn't very exciting. The crowd seemed to enjoy themselves, but no one looked blown away. Maybe Nintendo is using these events to guage how this holiday season will go, if so, I hope they realize they got some more work to do get people excited.  A handful of co-op mini-games isn't going to cut it. I hate to say it, but they really need a new Wii Sports.. that couldn't be done on the current Wii.

There would be more activity (but also potential spam/abuse issues). If someone posts for a while without creating an account, there is a good chance they will eventually create one. Better than nothing, right? It has worked well for the cbox.
