How is it that every time we run a Swag Saturday/Sunday post for a Nintendo Wii game, it's something wonderful? Last time we offered you Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure, and this week we're treating one lucky winner to a copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy! To get your hands on it, leave a comment below telling us your favorite moment in the Metroid series -- yes, you can go all the way back to NES. We'll pick one answer at random tomorrow evening to receive the fancy "Collector's Edition" you see above. One stipulation: Automatic disqualification should your answer include the Zero Suit in any way. You know why, ya scoundrels! Leave a comment telling us your favorite moment in the Metroid series, excluding those that involve the Zero Suit. You must be 18 years or older and a resident of the US or Canada (excluding Quebec, for obvious reasons) Limit 1 entry per person per day This entry period ends at 8:31PM ET on Monday, September 20 At that time, we'll randomly select one winner to receive Metroid Prime Trilogy on Wii ($50 ARV) For a list of complete rules, click here

I don’t want to ruin this character, as I’m sure some of you people might be playing through the game right now. According to the reviews, it sounds like people are suffering through it instead of enjoying it! Either way, if you don’t mind a bit of a spoiler, this is the 30th [...]

Awhile back, we told you that you’ll be able to use a brush to create a path for your character. This brush is called the Shirabe brush. The question we never asked was, does this mean that the game will feature multiple new brushes? On top of that, is Capcom just adding [...]

You guys know that I love boxart, which means that I love cover art as well. I’m still shocked to see that LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias got the subscribers’ cover to EDGE. That’s such a huge deal for a WiiWare title. It doesn’t hurt that the art is beautiful as well! Article [...]

He may be introduced as "a nice guy," but we're betting Red Steel 2's newly introduced character "Payne" isn't quite as friendly as the trailer above would let on. Sure, he may take you for rides on his motorcycle and ... um ... show you the inside of his new truck (?), but won't he get you killed when his path of destruction drags you down with him? The risk is yours, friend, should you decide to take the chance. You'll have plenty of time to decide between now and the notoriously vague "early 2010," when the game's set to hit store shelves. With a sword! There, are you happy?!

Sega has seemingly forgotten that Tokyo Game Show hasn't started yet, by releasing a brand new trailer for its upcoming Resonance of Fate (aka End of Eternity in Japan). Tri-Ace is breaking the JRPG norm by creating a trailer that isn't entirely comprised of CG cutscenes. There is a lot of gameplay footage here -- and as noted earlier, it's bizarre.Resonance of Fate creates a rather distinct look for itself by giving its main characters guns, and moves that would make Chow Yun-Fat jealous. It's entirely over-the-top, and gives the game an original feel missing from tri-Ace's previous works. It'll be interesting to see if Japanese gamers will pry themselves away from Final Fantasy XIII long enough to give this game a fair shake.[Via Sega Nerds]

Aside from releasing an RTS title in Halo Wars this year, concept art found on ex-Ensemble Studios artist Dylan Cole's website reveals yet another game that the studio was working on in the Halo universe. No name is given for the shots, though Cole calls the above image "Halo Universe City," which could mean a city from the world of Halo or a game named "Halo Universe."He also mentions that the "concept paintings" were for "a project that was canceled," so you can bet we won't be seeing these beautiful vistas in game form anytime soon. We do know that the studio was at one time working on a Halo MMO that never saw the light of day -- maybe these shots have something to do with that? We've asked Dylan Cole for more information, but for now, check out the full gallery of concept art right here.[Via HBO]

I love a lot of the music for Let’s Tap, especially the theme song. I’m glad to hear that the music of Let’s Tap is heading to iTunes, but have a tear in my eye, because it’s only coming out in Japan. I’m guessing that the game garnered more sales in the states [...]

With the exception of Valve, most developers have no qualms about developing for PlayStation 3. Sure, it's still far more "tempting" to work on the 360's accessible architecture, but most recent releases appear to have shaken PS3's earlier substandard multiplatform performance.Most. Bayonetta developer, Platinum Games, recently admitted on its blog that it was not developing the PS3 version; instead, it handed off PS3 porting to Sega. Platinum Games' CEO Tatsuya Minami wrote on the company's official blog that Platinum would be "overseeing the progress to ensure that the PS3 version would be the best it could be." However, instead of saying both versions will run identically, he simply advises PS3 owners to "[play] the game for yourself and [come] to your own conclusions."PlayStation commenters weren't too kind to Minami's admission, saying, "Platinum Games is trying to shift the blame to Sega" for what gamers fear will be a substandard port. History certainly gives their worries credence, but we'll find out for sure later this week at Tokyo Game Show.[Thanks, sacra!]
