Attention, virtual ballers, the NBA 2K11 demo is out today on both the PlayStation Store (once it updates) and Xbox Live Marketplace (right now!). The demo features the NBA 2010 Finals match-up between the Lakers and Celtics, which means you won't be experiencing any Michael Jordan moments. You want MJ, you gotta pay.

Oh, and don't break out those ice cream cones just yet, PS3 players, as the demo does not feature Move support (you'll have to pay for that, too -- it's in the retail version).

Quick Hit Football doesn't want to take on Madden.

EA Sports' Madden series has reached a point where it's hard for new players to get involved. With all of those buttons to memorize and an emphasis on twitch-based gameplay, Madden is for the hardest of hardcore. Quick Hit Football is the football game ... for everybody.

Following a recent "ICO / Shadow of the Colossus HD bundle" listing on Walmart's site, the unofficial remake package has popped up on Swedish retail website Webhallen. This new listing even adds box art (larger version after the break), though it's not been verified as authentic. The listing was spotted by a Twitter account named "PlayStationTEAM," which we've verified is not an official Sony account.

In response to the listings, Sony has told us it "doesn't comment on rumor or speculation," but with Tokyo Game Show about to pop off this week, we've got all our fingers and toes crossed for news about this HD remake bundle containing two games that are very near and dear to our hearts.

It first popped up in the US on Walmart's online retail site, and now the ICO / Shadow of the Colossus HD bundle has been spotted on Swedish retailer website Webhallen. Heck, it's even got some watermarked box art for good measure (larger version after the break). The listing was spotted by a Twitter account named "PlayStationTEAM," which we've verified is not an official Sony account.

For its part, Sony has told us it "doesn't comment on rumor or speculation," but with Tokyo Game Show ramping up this week, we've got all our fingers and toes crossed for news about this HD remake bundle containing two games near and dear to our hearts.

The long and puzzling saga of the PS3's now removed backwards compatibility with PS2 games may have just added another chapter. Japanese tech site Gigazine recently uncovered a patent filed by Sony Japan in February 2009, which appears to outline an "adapter" that could serve as a bridge for older generation games (e.g., PS2 discs) to be played on current generation consoles (e.g., the PS3).

We've contacted Sony for a comment on the patent, which was filed before Sony's John Koller definitively struck down the possibility of backwards compatibility on the PS3 last August. It's worth noting that the filing doesn't explicitly state the device's use for PS2 games on PS3. But, c'mon, what else could it be talking about? A UMD adapter for the PSP Go? Actually, now that we think about it, that might just come in handy.

Playing military dress up doesn't get any cuter than Battlefield Heroes. Of course, we never expected to see the beard-clad, rough and tough Tier 1 Operators from Medal of Honor show up in EA's free-to-play FPS, but here they are. Outfits for Tier 1 Elites and Specialists are already available, with Operatives and Captains becoming available in "early October."

At that time, Battlefield Heroes will also be adding a new map in "Alpine Assault," liberally peppered with the cadre of new weapons (six total). Head past the break for a video of the new content in action.
