Don't let the truly appalling voiceover work in the video posted after the jump distract you from said video's key thesis: Square Enix's Mindjack's multiplayer mode looks pretty unique. Online players can instantly jump into your single-player campaign, and can inhabit the bodies of monsters, mechs and humans to shoot and sliiiiiide their way towards either helping or hindering your progress. Check out the trailer below to see all the body hackin' (body, body hackin') unfold.

If the "Instant Multiplayer" shown below appeals to your manipulative senses, Square Enix has announced some incentives for early adopters. Anyone who pre-orders the game will be able to download the "Ability Pack," which gives them an unlimited sprint boost, as well as a gold uniform for their in-game soldier. Because nothing helps you blend in with the crowd like a bright gold jumpsuit, except for literally anything else.

Capcom is offering its newly-launched Dead Rising Mobile, a portable adaptation of the original Dead Rising, at a special introductory price of $4.99. Herein lies the rub, though: it's only compatible with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and third-generation or newer iPod Touch right now. The first update will include iPad support, but Capcom's being mum on when that'll be available.

Housemarque's still celebrating in the afterglow of its recently released, well-received PSN title Dead Nation -- but the Finnish developer isn't resting on its zombified laurels. The studio has secured a €300 thousand investment from fellow Finnish company Mediatonic. According to Arctic Startup, the investment will bankroll development on a whole new title: A downloadable "family game of skill and wits," due out sometime next year.

That sounds like a far, far cry from Housemarque's current announced project, the Ubis Outland -- though it seems bizarre that the studio's 20-some-strong development team would be working on two projects simultaneously. We've contacted Housemarque to see if they'll comment on where that sweet, sweet cashflow is going.

Ubisoft may not have said anything officially, but the ESRB seems to think that the publisher is coming out with another piece of exercise software to keep the various Your Shape and Gold's Gym titles company, this one entitled Fit in Six.

According to the rating board's description, the title is a fitness game that has players doing personalized "yoga, Pilates, cardio, dance, and kickboxing exercises." That sounds an awful lot like programs inside Ubisoft's Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, but, you know, without the branding.

Fit in Six will be available for the PS3 and Wii. We've contacted Ubisoft to sweat out some details.

Last month a live-action ad for Call of Duty: Black Ops debuted, depicting Jimmy Kimmel, Kobe Bryant and seemingly everyday people waging war in a desert battlefield. Some people were upset to see the Lakers star wielding an assault rifle, especially ESPN -- there was a discussion criticizing Kobe for his participation in the commercial. "He's smiling while wielding an assault rifle in combat while we have troops overseas at this moment doing that same thing for real, in combat," ESPN's Skip Bayless said of Bryant.

Activision isn't sweating it, though. In an interview with IndustryGamers, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg criticized any network who would complain about the content of the ad, yet accept the money to air it on their network. "I'm going to put it in air quotes, which you can't see, but the 'controversy' surrounding Kobe Bryant I find very hypocritical. Those same networks that are now questioning Kobe's inclusion in this had no problem accepting the ad and approving the ad, and accepting the dollars to run the ad on their networks. Are they being irresponsible to their fan base by running the ad on their networks? Because if it's good for the goose, it's good for the gander. I find that to be very hypocritical."

Hirshberg also added that the core audience Activision was going for with the ad really seemed to enjoy it, so at the end of the day he considers it a job well done. "The thing that I'm most happy about and relieved about is it seems to be getting an almost universally positive response from the gaming community." He's right -- at least, when it comes to that Joystiq site, that is.

MotoGP 09/10 developer Monumental Games suffered a major setback in November when an unannounced project for a large publisher unexpectedly fell through, forcing the company to restructure and reduce headcount. Speaking to Develop more recently, Monumental COO Paul Mayze explained that its subsidiary company has been deemed "technically insolvent."

According to Mayze, the UK-based Monumental Games Ltd will enter administration, while owner Monumental Games Group Ltd will carry on trading and retain the 30 staff members at its Nottingham location. "We're securing funding for Monumental Games Group to continue trading, and that's all in the process of being finalised right now," he said. "We're going to continue to focus on the areas that we're already working on. We'll still have the racing studio, we'll still focus on our digital online projects, and we still have the Prime engine business."

Prime is a 3D engine for massively multiplayer online games that can be embedded into web browsers. According to Develop, the technology is "gathering strong interest" from several publishers.
