The Xbox One version of Trials Fusion will require a day-one patch to increase the game's resolution to 900p, Ubisoft has confirmed. Prior to the application of the patch, Trials Fusion on Xbox One will run at 800p at 60fps. Ubisoft also confirmed developer RedLynx had originally targeted a resolution of 1080p for both the Xbox One and PS4, but the team was still optimizing its game for each platform. The PlayStation 4 version of Trials Fusion will run at 1080p at 60fps at launch.

A portion of a Game Informer review...

Conception was a series I never thought we'd see localized in North America, and I was curious to see just how something that sounded so off-the-rails would stack up. I was better off wondering. I could forgive the plot if the game was actually exciting, but this is a dull dungeon crawler.

A portion of a Joystiq review...

What ultimately brings down Conception 2, however, is that none of its elements manage to rise above a general feeling of mediocrity. The combat is too dull and repetitious to ever be addictive.

Sometimes, you're wandering around PAX East and you find a sweet game that looks like Secret of Mana, so you've gotta check it out. This is Wayward Souls, the next game from the folks at Rocketcat (Mage Gauntlet, Punch Quest). It's out for iOS on April 24, and it looks legit. Hands-on impressions above.Read more...

As far as I’m concerned, the important tasks for any new Blood Bowl 2 trailer to accomplish are as follows:

1) Show me which races will be available so that I don’t expect to be writing about an Ultimate Skaven Edition in three years time. 2) Attempt to convince me that the camera movement and turn-flow will be as smooth as a freshly shampooed dwarf beard. 3) Go some way toward showing that turn-based tactical trouncing is a bigger draw than ‘comic’ commentary.

The video below does not accomplish these things.

A portion of a CVG interview with Yoshio Sakamoto...

CVG: In your Tomodachi presentation, you mentioned your mission to 'create a game that moves the industry forwards'. Does that mean you will not return to the more traditional game series that you're known for?

Sakamoto: I do not intend to do so. There might [currently] be various tasks I might be involved in with past series. However, even if so I would always like to introduce new entertainment and new fun to those series.

I would like to satisfy fans of those series, but also working with other talented individuals I would like to create entertainment that's completely different and that brings new emotions. I would like to challenge myself in those unique directions.

This might be indirect, but if we can make new types of gamers enjoy video games for the first time through Tomodachi Life, then they might eventually become interested in the more conventional games. I think we need to ensure that video games remain attractive to consumers, and in order to do so new concepts and ideas are important. I would like to challenge myself to do that.

I am told by many people that I have developed many different types of games over my career, but I think this is solely because I was able to partner with many different people with many different talents. Although the types of games are different, what I think is the same for each development is the process of deciding which kinds of emotions we should bring to players.

When we think in that manner, many approaches of game development are actually the same over different types of games. I think in the end what is most important is hospitality towards consumers. When we develop games we always think, 'what do we have to do to make players happy or satisfied?'
