Afternoon all! Hope you liked last week’s huge update, we have more for you this week including some comics you have been waiting for…

5078263301_47e76de8ed.jpg

First off, a brand new Transformers series, Transformers: Drift, starts with issue #1. This four-part mini-series chronicles Drift’s origins as the Decepticon Dreadlock (!) and how he became an Autobot. In this first part Drift attempts to uncover the secret behind his mysterious rescuers… with shocking results!

We also have more Y: The Last Man in store for you with issue #9 out this week. Yorick finally uncovers the dark secrets his hosts have been hiding, and he’s also unexpectedly reunited with someone from his past… I’m not telling you who!

DC’s brilliant series Sandman also continues with issues #4 and #5. Morpheus travels to Hell and then has a pretty tumultuous encounter with Dr. Destiny, who has his eye on something that doesn’t belong to him… Guest-starring Mister Miracle and Martian Manhunter!

And for Batman fans we have three nice additions this week: Batman #676 and #677, starting the “Batman: R.I.P.” story arc… Another pretty epic storyline as you can guess! Superman/Batman is also back with issue #32, part 5 of “The Enemies Among Us” – where a crazed Superman goes against a super-powered Batman.

Also in this week is a brand new series from Markosia, Hero 9 to 5. This very fresh take on superheroes is set in a world where being one is just a job, and where the rich can afford the best heroes and the poor get the government sponsored agency… “Heroes for Zeros”! On their payroll is Jacob Reilly, a regular guy who just happens to be able to shoot flames from his hands, and whose girlfriend is also his alter-ego’s nemesis! All four issues available now.

And finally, Disney are bringing a very nice adaptation of the animated movie Up to the store. To escape a life in a retirement home, budding great explorer Carl rigs his house into a hot-air balloon, and steals away… with an unexpected stowaway on board! Fantastic story which is worth a read.

Just like we blame Washington for our lack of national health care and the crack epidemic of the 1980s, Red Dead Redemption's denizens struck with a bad case of the zombies in the "Undead Nightmare" DLC do the same. And who can blame them, really?

Coming from a scan we posted earlier… The above blurb mentions that Mario Sports Mix is going to support 4-player local multiplayer, as well as 4-player online play. Isn’t is strange that Nintendo isn’t trumpeting this feature?! Thanks to Josh for the heads up.

Nice to see Cosmo come around after years of looking at games in a negative light. I guess the people behind this mag finally realized that gaming can be a bonding experience, and not one to separate couples.

No word on what will happen with these trademarks, but it’s pretty easy to see what direction PowerPro Golf would head in. I wouldn’t expect Konami to make mention of these games until the new year hits.

It'll be time to make some crazy money when the PSN and XBLA versions of Crazy Taxi pick you up in November. Hitting PSN first on the 23rd and then XBLA on the 24th, Crazy Taxi will cost $10 and offer widescreen support with 720p HD graphics. Pick up passengers across the San Francisco-ish landscape in either Arcade Mode or Original Mode, or try out the 16 minigames that "hone taxi-driving skills."

For the purists, be aware that the licensed music and products will not be present in this version. That means no Pizza Hut, and a complete lack of The Offspring and Bad Religion. That may actually be a blessing, depending on how many times you played Crazy Taxi back in the day.

So, yeah, there are a lot of songs playable in Harmonix's various Rock Band games. More than 2,000 in fact, encompassing Rock Band Network, LEGO Rock Band, Rock Band 1, 2 and soon, Rock Band 3. In an effort to help make finding out if the song you want is among those, the developer has created an embeddable web widget that lets you search by artist, song title, year and genre (then sort within those results).

It's really pretty handy -- we've embedded it after the break, actually, so you can give it a try. If you'd like to stick it on your websitethingy, grab the widget here. Those familiar with iframes and other such web two-point-oh terms will know what to do with it.

As predicted by the sage GameFly, Atari's Star Raiders is indeed being updated for new audiences. Incinerator Studios, formerly a THQ-owned dev (Cars) is making a new space combat game based on the classic for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, due in early 2011.

The new version will still focus on spaceship dogfights, energy pool management, and navigation of a "galactic map," but also includes ship transformation features. Players will also be able to take part in epic space battles online in several multiplayer modes. "Great games such as X-Wing and Wing Commander were influenced by this Atari classic," Incinerator president Joel Goodman told GameSpot in an interview. Now we'll get to see what happens when Star Raiders influences ... Star Raiders.
