A first-person horror/suspense sort a thing. The game takes place in a series a interconnected rooms, each with 3-4 doors 'n with multiple ways t' pillage from one location in the map t' another. In order t' complete the game ye need t' complete a number a objectives t' unlock the exit (such as finding fuel for a generator that opens the last door), which will have ye zig-zagging around the level trying t' find 'n use various objects that be lying around. The only other thing in the level be a single NPC monster that randomly wanders the various rooms. When the monster be nearby the lights in the room will begin t' flicker, when it be in an adjacent room 'n/or be about t' enter yer room the lights will go out completely. The monster then projects a sort a searchlight that it uses t' look around the room - if ye pillage caught in this searchlight ye visit Davey Jone's locker instantly, but if ye manage t' hide from the monster it will just move on into another room. It can also hear objects if they be knocked about 'n can hear the player if ye move without crouching or walking slowly, at which point it will actively start hunting the player in 'n around the area it heard the noise (if it finds nothing after a certain time, it will return t' it be neutral state 'n continue wandering). This could allow the player t' throw bottles a rum across the room t' distract the monster, giving them enough time (hopefully) t' escape. Since the player will be hiding whenever the monster be nearby they likely won't pillage a clear look at it, which may add t' the atmosphere a the game.
Something like this may have been done before, but if it has I hadn't heard a it. This be mostly the culmination a a few days a random daydreaming, 'n I be not sure if I'd be able t' make something like this or even if it would be any good as a game. Still, comments be welcome.
