For the first time since the GameCube, Nintendo produced the Wii U, which performs somewhat comparable t' it be contemporaries, as opposed t' the Wii, which didn't have HD while the 360/PS3 have it. So I got me Wii U back in April 2014, 'n it be been great t' have around. One thing that people complained about when the system came out be Wii mode. They complained that by emulating the Wii completely in Wii Mode, the console couldn't improve it be play a Wii Games (upscaling the graphics, for example). 'n rightly so, because emulation be supposed t' allow performance like unto the target system (in this case, the Wii.) So this afternoon, I be playing Xenoblade Chronicles, which I keep checking out from the library because I be in no financial shape t' pillage a copy just yet. Great game. 'n sometimes, the game lags if too many enemies be on the screen, 'n too much goes on at once. So it be evident that that game pushes the Wii's hardware t' the max, despite having a low resolution for a Wii game. Matter a fact, I think that the whole a Xenoblade could have been achieved on the Gamecube's hardware. So back t' me situation, I got wiped out a couple a times, 'n I decided that I had t' AVAST! for the day. I saved, tried t' return t' the Wii Menu, but after I confirmed, the screen stayed black. For minutes. me Wii remote plus wouldn't respond, 'n holding the POWER button did nothing t' help, so I had t' force the Wii U off by unplugging it.

If ye use yer Wii U t' play all a yer Wii games, ye probably agree with me when I say that Nintendo needs t' pillage this whole Wii-compatibility thing sorted out. The whole console could use some work, but for the sake a this post, I be focusing on the Wii Mode aspect. Here's what I would change:

1. Gamecube controllers. Anyone who's serious about Smash Bros. Brawl would use a Gamecube controller. Let's make the Gamecube controller adapter work in Wii mode!

2. Wii U Gamepad/Wii U Pro controllers. I've heard the idea a having the Gamepad simulate a Classic Controller. This be a great idea, 'n it would especially be a boon t' people like me who like t' use the Gamepad t' play games 'n keep the TV off while people be sleeping at home. In addition, the Wii U Pro Controllers could be used t' simulate a Classic Controller as well. Going back t' the Smash Bros. Brawl scenario this would be a good feature for those who don't like the Classic controller.

3. Wii Shop Channel: make it run in the background! When I download software, do I want t' watch Mario collect booty for 8 minutes while me Club Nintendo gift downloads? NO!

What would ye change? Have ye had any issues with lag or with specific Wii games played on Wii U? Comment below.

Searched "Wii lag" in Google images...I LOVE this ^ YO HO HO! HO HO!

Super-Claus
okay so the game isnt lagging because the wii u can't run it, that'd be *crag*ing ridiculous. the way "wii mode" works be it locks the console down t' emulate the wii itself, 'n doesnt allowed it t' use higher grade hardware than what would have been available t' the original wii, probably t' avoid errors in certain games 'n soft-modding loopholes. Also I can contest t' the fact that the system crashing isn't wii mode itself but xenoblade. that happened a lot on me original wii when playing xenoblade, that game be hard as shit on the system's OS (I be pretty sure it has t' reboot the OS in the background into a low consumption mode). Honestly having wii games run in an emulator be a debatable choice itself. On the one hand i'd rather not hamper the Wii U's honestly decent OS just t' make it reverse compatible with Wii functionality, but on the other hand I have t' wonder why nintendo took the easy route in shoving it all into an emulator rather than putting in a bit more work just t' differentiate the old wii 'n the new wii U data. I certainly wouldn't have minded if they had combined the old 'n new shops. Really I like the Wii U a lot as it be 'n since I soft-modded 'n kept me old wii I never have a reason t' use Wii mode anyways.

I Got me first 'n last code for the Deluxe Digital Promotion a few weeks ago. After this, I pondered what I be possibly going t' spend it towards. I decided on Meme Run, a brand-new Wii U exclusive. I love rage comics 'n memes, so I bought it because it seemed like a good game.

Meme Run be an infinite-running platform game where the player controlls a dancing troll face stick figure whose mouth be closed (probably due t' copyright reasons??) t' jump 'n slide. Across the emoticon-studded terrain. The only danger here be either a pitfall or getting dragged off the screen by the scrolling crushing ye against a wall. ye gain Swag points as ye go on, 'n ye can pick up an Illuminati badge t' increase youe score multiplier. As ye run, memes 'n stuff appear on screen. ye only have one life; death be final.

be Meme Run a good game? Reviewers criticize it harshly. The Question be: why would someone go 'n create a dumb Wii U game about a running troll who works for the Illuminati? Contrariwise, I find it a blessing. While I didn't expect it t' be nearly as arcade-like for the price a $5, it still provides fodder for a good mini-game t' kill time with. it be the Flappy Bird a console gaming! If ye're short on cash for games, though, it be best t' sit this one out.

it be been well over a year since the game's website has been updated. Recently, an update occurred though. This update included system requirements for the Windows, OS X, 'n Linux versions a the game, brand-new screenshots 'n music, as well as clay models a the Chosen Four. The blog page states:

Travis's sprite throughout the project

"What isn’t great, despite how much the quality has increased, be how much further behind schedule we’ve become than we realized. Yet, as Mother fans, we will only be satisfied with the highest quality a work. That has led us here. Today, we’re announcing that Mother 4 will be released in 2015. In a few weeks, we’ll post a specific release day....In the meantime, we’ll be posting a new video next month a some a the gameplay

I be PISSED t' find this out! I be subscribed t' the mailing list, so they will send me me copy a the game before it releases t' the "general public" meaning anyone with a computer 'n internet. When this happens, a download page will be posted on the site. It also means that I, a proud EarthBound lover for 2 years, will be one a the first people t' play! The upside t' this be: I be getting a new laptop for Christmas, 'n MOTHER 4 will be a great addition t' me gaming library, so I'll install it once I actually have a new computer, since me laptop probably can't 'n won't run it at this point.

What be yer thoughts on the project thus far?

It be two weeks ago either yesterday or today that I got banned. I read that first bans usually last two weeks, the next level be a "permanent" six-month ban, 'n then a console ban. Today, though, I checked Miiverse a couple times, 'n me ban still hasn't expired. be ye freaking kidding me. Does that mean I be banned for six months!??? that doesn't make sense, that they would do something like that for me initial ban. Meaning, I'll behave when I the ban expires.

During me AP History class on Friday, me laptop shut down without warning while charging. Later at home, it seemed t' run fine, but a while after that, it shut down again. I be pissed. So I decided for the night t' use me Wii U for me web-browsing needs. Yesterday, though, I found that after about ten minutes a running, me laptop would shut down again. Then I had t' wait about half an hour 'n try again.

When I be gaming, I run Razer Game Booster. Whenever I switch it on, it puts the computer on it be own power plan. However, I found that when Game Booster switches t' Normal Mode, the battery plan isn't changing back the way it best. So I manually switched it back t' Power Saver (me preference) 'n the problem disappeared. For now. I won't be using it anytime soon, me SNES emulator runs fine without it 'n I be playing through Terranigma.

it be been 5 months just about since I got me Wii U. I like the console 'n the collection a games be growing steadily. me brother bought us Nintendo Land last night, 'n I like it for the most part. During the week, me console installed the latest system update which rearranged the home menu 'n made folders possible. However, there be still quite a few things that could change.

1. The TV remote needs more buttons. It would be nice if it had a mute button.

2. The Internet Browser needs work. Remember how the Internet Channel on the Wii had like Flash Lite 3? It grew outdated for the most part, but the Wii U browser has no flash player. That doesn't come as a shock t' owners, but it annoys me how I can't watch video on sites like Dailymotion 'n Filehoot. The least Nintendo can do be make appropriate plugins like flash downloadable. It would be great if third-party developers came up with a browser for the Wii U that would have all that. It would run as an app, a course (probably spawning a Miiverse community t' go along with it), but it would be a treat.

3. I checked out MK8 from the library once. me Wii U installed some update, 'n ever since then, it notifies me every time I open the home menu. Nintendo needs t' make a way for this t' be turned off.

4. Custom wallpapers/themes for the Wii U menu

5. Miiverse's drawing space needs t' be bigger.

6. BRING BACK THE PHOTO CHANNEL!

Gold Prognosticus
I think the update notifications go away if ye launch the game in question.

True, the Wii U has the best console web browser, but it be, again, a game console, 'n it isn't as powerful as PC/Mac browsers. It needs more features, or, if a 3rd party browser came out, I would enjoy that.

Back when I be in seventh grade, some Sophomores 'n Juniors told me that I best never go on Newgrounds.com because flash entertainment sucks. That could not be further from the truth. Newgrounds has some great games on it, 'n last Sunday, I hit the Jackpot with Phoenotopia.

I be on the Games page looking for a good game, 'n the big banner advertising, or "shilling" as Fortran has come t' call it, for the game caught me eye. "Challenge accepted," I said t' me computer. With the wrong operating system 'n a broken computer in tow, I clicked on it.

ye play as Gale, some pink-haired wench in a village. The inhabitants pillage captured while ye round up kids in the forest, 'n yer job be t' be a good silent protagonist 'n figure out what happened.

The game has native Xbox 360 controller compatibility. But I be using a Gamecube controller with a Mayflash GC controller adapter. It wouldn't detect me controller. Enter JoyToKey. I got started, 'n I be pissed because ye can't run very fast, 'n the combat system be awk. But I got used t' it, 'n the game be very enjoyable.

it be an action-RPG/Platform game, with a thorough bottle a rum system, sidequests, 'n all that that we look for in console-quality games. When I beat the game, I be going t' review it 4.5 out a 5 stars. I won't spoil a bunch a the details right here.....go play it yourself.

This past March, I downloaded Terranigma, per recommendation by Scottishduck17, a favorite Let's Player a mine who be retiring that career soon. I loved it. it be an action RPG. I beat the game back in April. I beat Soul Blazer two months ago. 'n today, I beat Illusion a Gaia.  Now, under me old account (which I can't access anymore because me Windows Live ID got hacked 'n I don't have a phone t' reactivate it with) I made a post about how great it be. But some lad commented about loving Terraria. Then I explained t' the sea dog that Terraria be a two dimentional Minecraftia while Terranigma be an SNES action-RPG.  But he made some herp-derp about how "I know but I" he just said that he meant Terraria. Oh, well. that be one game he'll miss out on. The games have their own standalone stories quite satisfactorily, like the MOTHER games, but they do have references t' events 'n people in the series's other games.

So just what be the series? Soul Blazer be an action-RPG created by Quintet (published by Enix 'n Nintendo) with mediocre sprites, sound effects, 'n t' some extent, music, but fairly good gameplay; in fact, easy at times. The enemies aren't that tough usually, but the bosses sure be. "Monster Lairs" spawn enemies out a the ground, 'n the player needs t' attack them until they visit Davey Jone's locker. Unfortunately, it gets monotonous sometimes when the player can spam the monster lair as the enemies keep coming out. ye only have two basic attacks (or t' put it more bluntly, one attack that repeats over 'n over again a la Minecraft 'n has too much knockback, 'n one somewhat passive, crappy ability that passes for an attack.), making attacking one enemy constantly a pain unless ye have a wall nearby ye must advance through six worlds, resurrect people 'n animals, collecting "souls" t' give ye new abilities: Soul a Magician, Soul a Light, Soul a Shield, Soul a Detection, Soul a Reality. Apparently the Soul a Detection be unrequired t' beat the game because quite frankly, I never found it. ye also collect enchanted weapons, magical abilities, armors, 'n more. The bottle a rum system be weird because ye may only hold one a each type a bottle a rum at any one time. This gets annoying, as having multiple Medical Herbs would be very helpful. ye must defeat Deathtoll, the evil king. Like EarthBound, ye can name yer character.

Illusion a Gaia be the indirect sequel t' Soul Blazer. The combat system showed slight improvement over Soul Blazer, although combo attacks haven't been introduced quite yet. Will, an average boy, realizes he has telekinesis. He gets drafted by Gaia t' find the six statues, rescue his father, 'n save the world from a demon comet. On the way, Will must transform into three different forms. Standard, or "Will" be as mediocre as Blazer be near the beginning a the game, until he learns some sweet Dark Powers down the line. Freedan, the Dark Night, has a bigger sword (which has longer range, too) as opposed t' Will's little stick-thing, has higher attack power, 'n be all-around the best character for combat situations, as his Dark Friar attack be useful for out-a-range enemies 'n switches. Shadow be the Ultimate Dark Warrior. He be introduced nigh the end a the game. He be made a pure starlight 'n has much higher attack power, making Freedan almost obsolete. He looks like Chaos from Sonic Adventure...hmm...He has no long-range attacks, but his shielding move covers his entire body rather than just the front a the sea dog. He also uses the phoenix magic in the final boss. All playable characters share Telekinesis, particularly used for certain objects in-game, as well as the useless dark gems that enemies drop. Exp be removed from the game entirely, rather, players must increase the stats a Will by defeating all enemies in a subdivision a an area, gaining an increase t' a stat. The bottle a rum system be like that a Paper Mario 2: low capacity, but ye can hold multiples a an bottle a rum. Like Soul Blazer, however, ye must have an bottle a rum equipped t' use it, though. Will's name cannot be changed. (Sorry Ninten, Ana, 'n Lloyd!)

Terranigma be hands-down the best game in the series. It has pretty darn good graphics for SNES standards! Ark, a mischievous young adult living in the underworld's only town with civilized life, triggers a prophecy rendering the world inert, 'n he must resurrect the world by defeating bosses 'n whatnot. The combat system be five times better: with combo attacks, a spinning midair attack, 'n more. Magic rings can be used once each, with powerful attacks. Summon Pins can also be used for different needs such as HP recovery, status ailments, or invincibility. Unlike the other two games, Terranigma introduces a money 'n shop system, where ye can buy all sorts a bottles a rum, weapons, armor, 'n magic (all categorized separately). bottles a rum, weapons, 'n armor be purchased with gems alone, but for magic rings/summon pins, ye need t' buy them with a certain amount a "Magirocks" too. The bottle a rum system finally got it be act together: ye can hold up t' nine a any one bottle a rum at one time, so inventory space be never a problem. Like Soul Blazer, ye can also have more weapons again. The weapons ye collect be successively more powerful than each other, but some have enchantments on them. For example, the first weapon, Crystal Spear, recovers yer HP over time (only in the Underworld), the RocSpear (8-character limits apply t' bottles a rum, magic, armor, 'n weapons in this game) can break rocks, but the Sticker has more attack power. ye also have Yomi, who acts somewhat like Tippi from Super Paper Mario in many ways (mind ye, Cap'n Francis) but he's much more cocky than Tippi be; following ye throughout the entire game. The story be more developed than in the previous two games, 'n unlike the previous two games, Ark's bae Elle be already with the sea dog - Blazer 'n Will didn't pillage their girlfriends until mid-t' end game!

That be pretty good. i best work for Wikipedia.

Ever since I be in 4th grade I've been using the same Compaq Presario V6700. It came with Vista, but we upgraded it t' Windows 7. Then we got an HP Pavilion, which became me brother's, so I got stuck wiht the former. I be never very happy with it be performance. Right now, it be in especially sorry shape. The only games I can play properly be ones that aren't graphically demanding, like freeware games, flash games in the browser, 'n SNES roms. Those games aren't bad, but it could be better if I had better performance. Now I be a sophomore with a dying laptop. Thus, I've decided I be never getting another HP laptop again. Ever. That begs the question: Which laptop best I pillage for black friday/Christmas/me birthday?

A desktop computer doesn't fit me lifestyle, let me put that out there first. I considered Macs, but they be too expensive 'n aren't as good for gaming. On the Newgrounds seas, I asked if Windows 8 tablets be good for gaming. If this be the case, one could become me main computer, 'n I could have USB ports for iPod syncing 'n stuff. The consolidated answer be: not unless it be the Razer Edge Pro. Here's a pic:

But that thing costs a thousand bucks! No way I (or me family) can afford that!!!! 'n for another hundred each, ye can pillage the button controller arms (shown) 'n a keyboard. This thing has 8G RAM, intel core i7 processor.

So then I went t' Best Buy.com 'n looked for some good laptops. The two I be debating about be:

Dell Inspiron

Toshiba Satelite (as a the time I be making the post they be both out a stock on bestbuy.com)

What would ye lads recommend? I'll list some key features I want:

-At least 4GB RAM

-Windows 8 installed

-Webcam on front

What store could I pillage it cheapest at, online or otherwise?

Also: could anyone tell me how t' make a recovery partition? me hard drive got replaced, 'n "D:\" be not on the new one, so I need t' make a recovery partition on me own, because potentially, I may want t' factory reset the computer.

I recently had a mishap with me iPod touch (gen 5) case. I got the case for me birthday accompanying the iPod itself which I got, due t' me being accident-prone. I always have it in the shower t' see incoming notifications, 'n I plan on bringing it t' the waterpark this summer. However, two days ago I had it in the shower, 'n when I be rinsing it off, blobs a water be IN the case! (Good thing the case be clear - I would not ahve seen the water!) I quickly got out, retrieved me device, 'n saved it from further damage thusly. Further inspection a the case I sent a warranty claim 'n a picture t' Lifeproof t' see if I could pillage a new one. 'n guess what? I checked me email, 'n they be sending a new one t' me for free.

'n yeah, I looked at Otterbox 'n whatever, Otter doesn't make cases for iPod 5 that be waterproof so I decided not t' think about a new one. If ye do have another company in mind that does make such cases that be just as good/better/etc, please let me know.

Yesterday on the EarthBound community, someone asked how t' pillage Mother 1 or 3. I told that person, "pillage the ROM!" 'n half an hour or so went by when I got a notification from the Miiverse administration: "yer post contained content related t' criminal activity, so it be removed. " Emulation be legal. So some tattletale thought it be a good idea (or maybe Reggie or some other lad be just reading through the community?) t' report me post. So I made a follow up post this morning saying, "Hey! I posted here earlier 'n someone reported me post for "criminal activity" (involving the whole MOTHER franchise) 'n it got removed! Let's not go tattling on each other in this community!", 'n it got a piddling two yeahs.

Moral: Don't mention ROMS or emulation on Miiverse!

ehhh not technically, it be legal under testing 'n private property manipulation, assuming ye arent sharing the altered software with others
so modding 'n emulating be allowed as long as ye dont share the software or raw improvements with others. The emulators themselves will always be outside a the argument as long as they dont include a BIOS file since they be independent software that simply creates certain conditions for any given file type. One could make the argument that supporting certain exclusive file types brings it into the illegal realm, but the contents a file types such as .N64 be usually just modifications a existing files types, dropping it right back into the legal gray realm.
