Tokyo Game Show is always an exciting time for gamers everywhere, as we all look forward to new games and other news being unveiled during the show. This year is no exception. We are always looking for ways to create better experiences for our gamers, and to that end, we just unveiled a smaller, lighter PlayStation 3 at the show.

The new PS3 will be available in two different models, with 250GB and 500GB HDDs which will allow you to store even more of your digital life. It also features a smaller, streamlined design that will look great as part of any entertainment system. The new model is approximately 20% smaller and 25% lighter than the current PS3.

In order to maintain the superior gaming experiences that you expect from us here at PlayStation, we are always looking for ways to change and evolve with your gaming behavior. You might remember the smaller models that we launched for PlayStation 2 and PSP (PlayStation Portable), and we know that many of you love the opportunity to add these streamlined models to your home. Additionally, as developers continue to release deep and rich digital gaming content, providing an option for larger HDD is essential, especially for games with large DLC packs, and full game downloads, as well as personal entertainment content. The biggest and best games live on PS3 this holiday season, and the new PS3 is the perfect way to play.

We are also excited to announce that the launch of this new PS3 model will include incredible additional value. The 250GB PS3 will be available on September 25th for $269.99 (MSRP) as part of a limited edition bundle featuring UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception: Game of the Year Edition and a voucher for more than $30 worth of bonus digital content for the highly acclaimed digital title, DUST 514. This bundle offers more than $70 in total combined value.

The winner of over 60 industry and Game of the Year awards, UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception will be re-released next week in an all new Game of the Year Edition, which includes 12 new multiplayer maps, over 40 multiplayer skins, Fort Co-Op Adventure, and Shade Survival Mode, a value of over $45 in bonus content. In case you somehow missed it, UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception is the latest installment in Naughty Dog’s storied UNCHARTED franchise that chronicles the adventures of Nathan Drake. UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception Game of the Year Edition is a great way to kick off your gameplay experience on the newest PS3 model.

UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception Game of the Year Edition will also be available as a standalone title on September 25th for $39.99 (MSRP).

CCP Games’ DUST 514 brings intense infantry combat, large-scale warfare and deep character advancement to PS3 in an exclusive free-to-play massively multiplayer shooter. Set in, and integrated with, the massive universe of EVE Online, players wage war in the next generation of first-person shooters, where a single victory could prove the crushing blow to a galactic empire of thousands of online gamers. This bundle includes an incredible amount of bonus value – more than $30 in total.

For those of you who do not own a PS3 yet, or have been looking to add another PS3 to your household, this is the perfect opportunity to jump in before the next wave of blockbuster games launch this holiday season.

The new 500GB PS3 will be available in a limited edition bundle on October 30th in conjunction with the release of Assassin’s Creed III – one of the most anticipated games for this holiday season featuring four exclusive levels, only available on PS3.

PlayStation fans – let us know what you think of the new PS3 model. Stay tuned for more PlayStation 3 updates here on PlayStation.Blog!

Square Enix has revealed Kingdom Hearts is finally on its way to current-era home consoles. In typical wacky naming fashion for the publisher, the bundle including HD remastered versions of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts - Re:Chain of Memories, and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days will launch in 2013 under the banner of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix.

No stranger to re-releases, the Kingdom Hearts franchise will further update the PS2 re-release of Chain of Memories - originally a GBA game - to the PS3. Final Mix was a Japanese-exclusive re-release of the first game, which added new content found in the North American version of the game. Though the DS-exclusive 358/2 Days would probably see the most tweaking to get it to land on home consoles, speculation based on a Famitsu report is the PS3 release will only feature remade cutscenes from in the handheld title and not its gameplay.

Additionally, Square Enix revealed a browser-based, online social card game set within the Kingdom Hearts universe, according to the same Famitsu report.

Joystiq has a team in Japan for TGS 2012 - which officially begins tomorrow - and will look to have Square Enix explain exactly what the PS3 bundle includes and whether the company plans to bring it stateside.

#art This summer, talented internet person Ninjazzy made the original 151 Pokémon in clay. That's impressive! It's even more impressive after you realize Ninjazzy not only did that, but made them small enough to stand on a penny. No wonder these are called Pénnymon. More »

What is the most tragic event in human history in your opinion? Mine would be the destruction of the Alexander library that withheld most of the worlds knowledge in the early centuries of AD.

sunglasses

Mine would probably be when Ignaz Semmelweis saw that his wing of the hospital had a lot of dead patients. He figured it was because people weren't washing their hands or cleaning their surgery equipment. Other people were too lazy to and they tried to get rid of him. He died in a mental asylum. Many people died because they didn't wash their hands.

Nastasia
exactly, thats why its tragic

the game is okay

a lot of the flaws are fixed from the first one but it introduces new ones of its own

the physics have been redone completely and actually work rather well now.

the tag commands are pretty terrible, press a button to launch them, wait three seconds for the pointless animation, and then stuff happens. flight works nothing like the original games, rather than being based on time it's based on how many times you pressed the button and after 7 tails gets tired automatically. tails can swim indefinetly though making water pretty pointless. the super 69 spin dash thing is completely broken, it makes you invincible to practically everything (you can roll on top of spikes without harm) and completely wrecks everyones shit.

there's nothing inherently wrong with the level design, they're not really hold right to win but they're not exactly special either. there was one instance in the third zone where you had to navigate tails' flight over a bottomless pitwhile wind is pushing you around and it was really irritating but I have no real problems with the rest of them.

the level graphics are much better now though. rather than following episode 1's idea of "oh this is casino night zone BUT IT ISN'T I SWEAR" the levels are actually fairly unique now and it's really nice.

how the music is depends on person to person. it still has the terrible instruments that episode 1 has. I think the melodies are better but I can see why people might disagree.

white park act 2

it's not really worth $15 but if it goes on sale for like 5 maybe it's worth getting

sims
last 2 zones in the game are godawful, changing rating to 4/10

Re-logic's blockbuster RPG Terraria is coming to Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network from publisher 505 Games. 505 also announced the digger/builder/action-adventure's sold 1.6 million copies on PC, and that Dutch developer Engine Software is handling the upcoming conversion

"I can't say how excited I am to finally have Terraria come to Xbox 360 and PlayStation3," said Andrew Spinks, the creator of Terraria, "To see it come so far is a complete shock, especially after such humble beginnings. It's always been my dream to have as many people as possible know and enjoy Terraria as much as I have, and this is another big step in that direction."

The news of a console release of the 2011 indie game was first disclosed on its Facebook page, after teasing fans yesterday with word of a big reveal. The game comes to XBLA and PSN early next year.
