Tekken Revolution be revealed earlier today by a trailer tucked away 19 minutes inside a a video segment on Gamespot. The game, which be both free-t'-play 'n a PlayStation 3 exclusive, will be available this Tuesday, June 11. Aside from the fact that Paul, Bryan, Kazuya 'n Lars be all featured in the footage shown, little else be known.

Tekken ringleader Katsuhiro Harada previously dismissed an Australian Classifications Board listing for the title as being in reference t' a new version a Tekken Card Tournament. That, coupled with the fact that no user interface be shown in the Revolution footage, be enough t' keep us from assuming that this be a fighting game - it could just as easily be a high-def, ultra-pretty version a Namco Bandai's existing, mobile free-t'-play competitive card game set in the Tekken universe.

With E3 breathing down our necks, we expect t' learn more soon.

The Xbox One won't play Xbox 360 discs or XBLA games, 'n that doesn't really bother Microsoft Head a Interactive Entertainment Business Don Mattrick.

"If ye're backwards compatible, ye're really backwards," he told the Wall Street Journal.

Mattrick said only 5 percent a customers play games from previous generations on new consoles, so spending time t' make that possible isn't worth it. Sony's PlayStation 4 isn't backward compatible from a hardware standpoint, but with cloud service Gaikai, it best offer a way t' play games from the PS3 'n older consoles.

it be been eight years since the previous generation transition, meaning players have had longer than ever t' build up their libraries. that be a lot t' lose - 'n even more so with the onset a downloadable games in the middle a this generation.

The difference between current-gen 'n next-gen be much smaller than last time, so I don't think that 5% stat applies anymore. Current gen has all the features (online, HD, harddrives, DLC) 'n gameplay that the next-gen systems do (ironically the Wii U be the only one with new game types, 'n yet it be still backwards compatible)

Microsoft's minty-fresh Xbox One will be unable t' play Xbox 360 discs, nor will yer multitude a Xbox Live Arcade purchases transfer t' the new machine, our mateys at Engadget have learned.

The incompatibility be due t' the fact that the Xbox One runs on x86 processor architecture, whereas the Xbox 360 ran on PowerPC. This fundamental difference in hardware architecture prevents the Xbox One from natively running Xbox 360 games, regardless a how powerful the thing may be.

In an investor presentation, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata announced that Nintendo will skip the usual large-scale E3 press conference this year in favor a "a few smaller events that be specifically focused on our software lineup for the U.S. market."

it be important t' remember, especially in situations like this, that the existence a a patent does not necessarily correlate t' the existence a a product, or even a company's desire t' build what it has patented. So, with that in mind, let's take a look at Sony's ridiculously named PlayStation 3 tablet controller patent.

The device Sony refers t' as an "EyePad" in it be patent application, seen in the sketch above, would theoretically come equipped with the usual trappings ye'd expect from a PS3 controller: D-Pad, buttons, analog stick, SIXAXIS motion sensors, etc. The more interesting bits, however, be a bit harder t' pick out from the drawing.

First a all, those shaded stripes on the edge be not a creamy nougat center, as we had originally surmised, but rather illuminated strips a LEDs or comparable light source. This would allow the EyePad, in conjunction with an EyeToy camera, t' function as a PlayStation Move controller.

Secondly, those dots on either corner a the apparent display (which could actually be a normal display, touchscreen or Vita-esque touchpad, according t' the filing) be paired stereoscopic cameras. The cameras be arranged in such as way that their respective fields a vision provide a full, 360-degree view a any object placed onto the surface a the EyePad's screen, allowing for objects t' be fully scanned in three dimensions 'n then rendered in game. Theoretically the player could also place their face within this field, allowing for face mapping in character customization applications, for instance.

Again, we doubt this patent represents anything more than a combination a day-dreaming 'n butt-covering on the parts a Sony's engineers 'n legal department, respectively, but the ideas presented here be definitely interesting.

So it be a Wii U Gamepad?

The scanner/camera feature sounds cool, but might be hard t' implement in a non-gimmicky way.
